Paid a visit to J&G Sales

So I've been trying to get my father to settle on and buy a concealed carry pistol for a long time. I'd been urging him to get a Polish P-64, because they're compact, reliable, and shoot the inexpensive and more powerful 9x18 Makarov round, or a Bersa .380. I already have a Makarov pistol, so the P-64 was favored due to commonality of ammunition. Well, I noticed J&G Sales was up in Prescott (I'm in Phoenix), so today we paid them a visit. Nice showroom, great help. Ultimately we both wound up purchasing Polish P-64's, along with the Wolff spring kits to improve them. They're nice guns. Good fit and finish. I couldn't be more pleased about the price, either. Just sweet little pistols.

Mike, In case you haven't visited this site already, check out http://www.p64resource.com/ for lots of good info on your p64. I recently added one to the collection and that site has been invaluable.

Next time you need to visit Prescott Valley Guns. It's on your right hand side just as you are entering Prescott Valley from the highway. They have a wider selection, often better deals and IMO a more knowledgeable staff.

In the eight years I lived in Prescott I probably bought ten guns from J&G, I'd say I bought well over twenty from PV Guns in that time.

Also the next time you get up there check out The American Gunshop, High Country Guns & Knives, Bill's Trading Post and High Noon Shooting Parlor.

Already checked out that site, Vimes, before I bought it. My father liked the feel of the Bersa a little better, but the price of the P-64 and cheap ammo sold him on it. I ordered him a Don Hume Makarov holster like mine to carry it in.

Yep, gotta agree.....I've tossed around the idea of getting a P-64 just to have another 9x18 to go along with my CZ82, as a novelty if nothing else.

With that said, one can get the CZ for at least $50 less than that $299 Triggernosis saw for a P-64 and quite frankly as neat as I think the P-64 is, I don't believe it's in quite the same league as the 82, other than being a little smaller.

I don't find the 82 hard to conceal even under a summertime Polo shirt so no way would I pay substantially more, for a P-64 than one can find a CZ82 with almost twice the capacity, parts availability, ambidextrous, fantastic DA/SA trigger, cocked & locked capable and the well respected CZ brand.

Sounds like some of these dealers are just a bit exorbitant. ...... My max price on a P64 is $200 out the door. Anymore than that and they can keep it.

Yeah, I knew they were kinda "wishing" on those, but of course this is the same place that had used Beretta 9FS's for $475 and wouldn't budge on the price.

Last I saw around here were going for $169 OTD. That was last fall.

J&G has them for $160. If you're ordering, though, I recommend you pay the hand select fee. When we were in the store, they brought out 3 guns and we selected the best 2. They also had the Wolff spring kits for them. From everything I've seen and read, these guns are a steal at that price. Very nice fit and finish. They're perfectly comfortable to carry, too. They also had the P-83 (very nice-looking gun, but a bit big for carry).

They had the Bersas with rubber finger groove grips and pinky guard magazines for $260. Those are a very good deal, too, at that price. They also have some beautiful AK's, also at good price. Honestly, I cannot speak highly enough of this store. Great deals all around, friendly staff, good showroom.
