Peculiarities in Gun Taste?

- I prefer stainless over blued. 90% of my guns other than MilSups are stainless. My favorites are my Ruger 357 Revolvers with Hogue Rubber grips.
- Have no desire to own a 1911 for whatever reason.
Don't really want an AK either. I'm happy with my Norinco SKS.
- My 1st shotgun was a 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge and I been wanting a12g to match it. Don't "need" one, just want one of each caliber..?
- Never been hunting and never plan on going but enjoy shooting guns

I like fine blue and checkered Walnut.
I tolerate SS for Revolvers, but prefer blue.
Do not care for the feel of plastic grips - wood for me with fine sharp checkering.

I hunt with bolt actions, but love to shoot my FAL and other autos.
The Garand is my favorite rifle and the 1911 my favorite pistol.

I shoot my Sig 226 and 220 more than any other pistols, but they have wood grips.

A .22 anything is fun to shoot.

I don't like chrome or stainless. I prefer a black or blue finish on my pistols and do not like the plastic grips that some of them came with.
Replaced them with wood grips. I also like mil-surp rifles especially the deep red wood on my SKS.

Revolvers for their reliability.
Stainless for rust resistance.
Magnums for velocity = range.
.454 Casull/.45Colt does it all...

1. I have a penchant for two tone guns - I like black frames with a hard chromed matte finish or brushed stainless.

2. I gravitate towards unique guns or ones with features unavailable in other guns. I like the CZ-52 because it looks weird and fires an oddball caliber. I like the Mateba revolver because it's such a departure from other revolvers.

3. I tend to purchase guns that fill a niche for me without being the most popular gun in its category. My shotgun need is filled by a Franchi-I12 rather than a Remington or Mossberg. My carry pistol is a Walther P99c rather than an XD or Glock. My .22 plinking rifle is a Thompson R-22 rather than the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 or Marlin. All of my choices are quality firearms and for me have a certain extra something.

4. I like my historically significant military arms to be wood and blued or parkerized just the way they were issued. Chopping up M1 Garand stocks or polycoating them just feels wrong.

I do not like hard chomed, though I am ok with grey matte stainless. Don't like shiny. Don't like serrations on the end of the slide as they are no good in holsters and I like the look of the slide better without them. I love the 1911 look and am lukewarm with polymer handguns, but ironically, I only have a polymer right now and no 1911. What can you do. Browning makes some beautiful bolt action rifles IMO. Sexy! Even so, I'd like to get one of the new BARs, cause they are also neat. I don't like flahslights that clip onto my M&P as much as I like to hold the light in my off hand.

Oh, and Glocks and XD's are grotesque abominations of polymer hell gone mad. But they work. :)

I love .30 caliber. Most of what I own is the proverbial .30 caliber. 30.06 is the bread and butter cartridge. I have .30 cal carbines but the mainstay is the venerable 30.06. I love the .22 cal Long rifle IMHO that caliber is without a doubt the most underrated cartridge in the world to date. The most useful to the most inexperience shooter and best of all it is a rifle. You can hold back a crowd. I love the .45 ACP. I can hit a 12 x 15 target with a springfield straight out of the box at a 100 yards 4 out of 7. I am not complaining.

I'm partial to different guns for different reasons.

I like the 10/22 because you can get all kinds of accessories.

I like ak's because of the movie "Lord of War" and I like them more now that I've shot a few.

I like Mil-Surps because they all have a history

I like anything J.C. Higgins because the first gun I was given by my mom was a J.C. Higgins .410 and now it's kind of like a pawn shop treasure hunt. I also learned that all of the J.C. Higgins are re-badged quality firearms.

I like revolvers in SS and Semi-Auto pistols blued or black.

I like .22's because they're cheap to shoot and you can find all kinds of different kinds of .22's for cheap.

I prefer SxS shotguns compared to pumps.

I like all firearms, and I have this quirk that I must do everything I can to make sure my daughters can enjoy firearms long into the future.

I like stainless side arms
I like blue or parkerized rifles.
I shot competition skeet for many years, but lately you'll find me on the rifle line.
The only shotguns I own are pumps.
Because I carried an M16 for so many years, I consider it a tool, not a rifle. I own one, but don't feel any affinity to it. No more than a hammer or a wrench.
I love 1911's and bolt rifles.

I like everything from muzzleloaders to assault rifles. But a nice single action with rubber grips makes me want to blow chunks! :D

I admit to being a stainless steel freak. All my guns are SS except my Marlin 1894CB, and I almost passed that one over for their 1894SS. Blued guns just don't get it for me.

I like a bright blue finish on revolvers. I like my hunting rifle to be dull blue, and have a plastic stock, so I don't cry when I beat ti up in the woods.

The M1 Carbine is my favorite firearm. Versatile, handy, ammo isn't too expensive. Plinks, hunts, self-defense, does it all.

I really like the look of stainless paired with walnut.

I prefer the smaller shotgun gauges (20 and 28), and go for either an autoloader or a SxS.

I have a soft spot for the M9, but will most likely never own one.

I'm really fond of case bluing, though I don't anything with it because it's only found on revolvers, and I like autos.

Even though I'm a fan of how it looks, I dislike bluing due to its lack of durability, and would rather have something parkerized and/or made of something like aluminum if it's going to be a "shooter" on the simple basis of fact that it's going to take less maintenance and I'll have to worry less about it getting corroded/rusted - and I do clean my guns regularly/after each shooting, or at least wipe them down.

I've got a fascination with finding an "ultimate scout/generic rifle": something durable, lightweight, lethally effective, and fun/enjoyable to shoot that fits me like a glove. Think: M1 carbine in 7.62x39 (but not a ruger mini, because they weigh and balance significantly differently).

I love all guns that are 22 centerfire or under. I want to get into the subcaliber guns. the 20's, 19's, and 17's. I love odd ball cartridges. If you had two guns of the same make quality one in 22-250 and one in 19-223. I would be all over the 19-223. I like a good quality high luster blue job, not much on stainless on any gun. I love 1911, Colt SAA is a gun I want but have never owned. I love the 22lr.

1. Im not a big fan of your average bolt-action hunting rifle. Some look great... but they all look the same to me. I prefer milsurps.

2. I love any color of handgun, as long as its not GOLD. Chrome is delightful, but gold is tacky. Seriously... just dont.

3. Dont really like guns with grip safeties.

I'm very peculiar about my guns:

Revolvers:
Smith and Wesson just has an "ick" factor to me. THere revolvers feel gross in my hand. That's why I'm a Ruger revolver gal.

Semi-Autos:
Has to be a 1911. I won't shoot a Glock, no even curious about them and the other tupperware guns. Make mine a 1911 in an alloy Commander size, or cold, hard steel in a Government size.

Colors:
Black matte guns call for rosewood grips, stainless guns, cocobolo or lighter color woods.

I dont' mind some customization with 1911's just don't go overboard on the cheez factor! Two tones, not three, and tone down the fancy work on the slide and barell. I also hate front serrations.

I like carbine length EBRs. All evil features, no neutered stuff.

Parkerized in most cases. Wood is acceptable.

Examples: M4 carbine, Mp5 subgun, Spanish FR8, M1A walnut stock parkerized.

I like guns that can be taken to a fight. Rifles? Reliable & accurate. Handguns? Reliable and accurate. Looks do play a bit of a part, but the Infantryman in me says it has to work.

The .30 M1 carbine has to be about the finest rifle ever made.
I shot a S&W model 41 and a browning t-bolt (both are .22) today, and the pistol hit so effortlessly, it beat the rifle in accuracy. I love it when a pistol is made that well.
