Pedersoli Revolvers

I have both the Pedersoli Remington and Rogers; they are both fine revolvers straight out of the box, with competition trigger pulls you can only dream of - they both break at just over 1 lb. I believe they put a degree of hand fitting/honing into the final assembly and they are certainly smoother than some other makes but this is reflected in the steep price. Out of the two, my favourite is probably the Remy - it has finer sights and seems to balance better in the hand. I understand the Rogers is preferred by people with large hands because the grip is slightly larger than the Remy. The Rogers also suffers far less from cylinder binding than the Remy due to the collar at the front which deflects downward gas blast from enering the arbor pin and gumming up the works. On the other hand, I think the Remy has the edge on looks - it just looks sleeker than the Rogers - but that's only personal opinion.

They will both shoot as accurately as a centre-fire revolver and certainly better than I'm capable of - I've had ragged one hole 8-shot groups with a couple/three fliers at 25 metres.

The only thing I've done to them is change the nipples for Ampco/Tresco beryllium ones which I do with all my percussion revolvers because IMO they're the best.

Highly recommended but quality comes at a price.

Tight Wad :)

They have them made by Fernwerbauh (sp?) in Germany. the US source would probably be Beuchamps Flintlocks Etc by special order.

Hello,

I live in France and this is our understanding of the situation :

As for the R§S, Euroarms of America is the main supplier : it is available with fixed or dove-tailed sight, blued or grey finish, standard barrel (normal turn) or WALTER Lothar (the family of famous WALTER German guns)barrel (fast turn : stabilizing bullet) . Basically you can mix all these options to get the one you want.

Pedersoli market its own version but it is suspected to be based on Euroarm frame (with Lothar barrel) with additional manual gunsmithing attention : better trigger notably (Euroarm trigger can be quite stiff and necessitate some smoothing) . The price will almost double.....

There is also a German version made by Feinwerkbau which would be really different and very high grade but even more costly.

In case some basic kitchen table gunsmithing is not a problem, the Euroarm version is the best cost effective choice.

As for the Remington, Euroarms product the same choice of option as described above and probably the Pedersoli gun could be an improved version of the Walter barreled Euroarms gun.

You can check the barrel twist and sometimes a "N" or double losange on the barrel identifying the Walter barrel.

Anyway, all of these gun, even basic model are very accurate ( more than enough for my skill )

Bye

There are a couple of sources for Euroarms R&S in the United States. The Pedersoli may be more accurate but I wouldn't be able to tell. The only quibble with ours was an extremely heavy trigger pull. Fortunately, we were able to reduce it without harming any temper in the hammer.

The Firkenbau/Pedersoli revolvers are all over $1K a piece over here in Europe. All I can do is to eny you people...

I'd be surprised if they were any less here. Last time I looked they were up over $900 with promises of a raise in prices due to the poor status of the dollar vs the Euro. That was a couple of years ago.
