Background:
My wife and I have been wanting to take the other courses offered by the gentleman who we took our CCW and first Self Defense/Low Light pistol class through.

Present:
Her birthday is this Sunday and she was kind of down and wasn't really sure what she wanted to do for her birthday. So we got talking and she mentioned the fact that we needed to check on when the next offering of Norm's "Tactical Handgun" class was going to be (we had to back out of it once before because of other obligations).

Later that night she gets online and checks his site and sees that he is doing about one a month, including one on her birthday. She asks if I'd call him during the week and set us up for the next available class (they usually fill up pretty quick).

I called him last night and was happy to hear that he had room in this weekends class for the both of us. So, now we will be spending the morning of my wife's birthday at the range in a pistol class...and she is now excited about her birthday so it makes me doubley happy.

Course Outline (he said they have been able to do a lot more shooting because of reduced class sizes)

Course Outline said:

Norm and his staff are a bunch of really great guys and make the classes fun and enjoyable, so I'm looking forward to a good time.

Hell, it was her idea. I was fine with waiting until a later date...but she was really excited about doing that for her birthday.

Now she is also talking about picking up another holster, and has already gotten another spare mag for the class.

Tell the instructor that it's her birthday and turn it into a big deal. Order a cake to be delivered at lunch and turn it into a party. Also, get a mag loader so she doesn't wear out her thumb loading.

To really cover the bases make reservations for that afternoon at a local place for a pedicure/manicure/spa visit. Full treatment all afternoon (you can go back to the range while they pamper her).

And then make sure you've got reservations at a nice restaurant for that evening with flowers and the full treatment.;)

Remember that this trip to the range and class are as much a gift to yourself as it is for her so make sure that you've got something special that is just for her.

Your wife's idea of a sweet birthday present is a pistol class?

*Checks Hair in The Mirror*

Does she have a sister?

We've been asked that more then once...

either because of something like this, or asking an engineer friend (who also designed custom turbo setups for cars) to explain the math behind sizing/flowing a turbo and the math required during his tuning sessions...but really topped it off when she asked him to teach her to weld. :D
