Having my caregiver not do my dishes when she does the others.

It's a simple task so I talked to her about it yesterday and got into an argument. She said she was letting them soak. But she had already done dishes from making breakfast for my girlfriend.

She's the same with my laundry.

Let's see if are little talk helps.

Nice story, but try and work your guns into it somehow...:what:

Well, coming from a competition shooter-

Folks who post that their latest toy is accurate cuz they can hit a 12in gong off a bench at 100yd. Really? Bless your little heart....... now run along and play.

Or, "my gun is accurate, I can hit a deer at 100yd" that's nice, I can hit deer with a Ford.

Or, "my gun is accurate, I can hit a gong" That's nice. How big? At what distance? Can you do it 5 shots in a row?

Or, "my gun is accurate, I can keep'em in the black at 100yd" What size black? You do know the "black" for a 1k yd target is 36" for a Creedmore and a NRA is 44". Are you saying you stink that bad?

Or "I only shoot Goex" That's nice. Are you aware that Goex is a brand name? So do you shoot at a particular company? Woke/not woke, does it matter?

She came back today and saw that I was going to the shooting range. She told me there's an app that will let me shoot my guns on the TV.
So, yesterday wasn't a total loss.
Our recycling center has a 15 yard box (end opens) for electronics. I have been known to shoot a TV now and then ! No app required !

Save your breath. That one has been ingrained too long.:uhoh:

A fellow Deputy Sheriff years ago, knew I was an SAA fan, bought a nice Pre-war .45 and he’d carry it on duty occasionally. To this day he calls it his Long Colt. Not 45 Long Colt, just Long Colt… probably because I tried to break him of it years ago.

I don’t even HAVE a caregiver!!!

I'm really not sure where you would get the idea that I'm irate over anything.
I'm just trying to help let the sun shine on Eeyore.
I'm not even in the group of folks here complaining how words are spelled or pronounced.
I'm pointing out that closed minded folks might gain a little something from questioning what they think they know.

For anyone that has their undies in a bunch over why Hawken has been spelled so many ways through all the years, just realize how blessed you must be to have had to dug down to something this small to find something to complain about.
So your pet peeve is peevish people?

The range the muzzleloader club folks I shoot with has an old gal who is a range master, she takes a special delight in monstering out on people for any little thing she can find fault with. She has apparently forgotten that our tax dollars and license fees support her job and she works for those of us who have paid fees to shoot there. How's that for peevish?

I got a lot

Grossly under size revolver chambers that promote inaccuracy and gas cutting.

Grossly under size loading ports that prevent properly sized period correct conical bullets from being loaded. This also totally kills the joy of making and using paper cartridges. A Walker with a tiny loading port that only accepts round balls stop this nonsense it's bad enough with the regular belt pistols. In a fully tuned tuned single action revolver sold straight from the shop that does it with a $1000.00 or close price tag is a major let down, and with no mention or warning nor option advertised of enlarging the loading port to proper Colt specs. Come on talk about lifting someone up real high and just letting him drop after a purchase.

Improperly sized arbors on Colt replicas. Why force your customers into a project every time they reassemble their revolvers in order to get at best vaguely consistent accuracy results.

Those who imply that people are irrational because they don't grossly under-load guns. 25 to 30 grains in a Walker with filler and round ball. Why would someone buy a 5 lb horse pistol for that. Some of the suggested loads by people who only punch paper on the smaller guns will have velocities that cause the bullets to bounce off of wood. For that you may as well buy a BB or pellet gun and that may be even more powerful. Even the black powder gun makers are now posting more realistic loads these days some people just don't get it.

Vague range reports by people who don't tell you the distance, target size, group size, and loads they are using. A cowboy movie with professional actors is a much better choice for that kind of entertainment.

Claims that it's normal for black powder firearms to have bad accuracy and impractical effectiveness. Both past and current history proves this to be untrue over and over for anyone who bothers to research it. Muzzle loaders can be very accurate with very powerful loads.

On the other side of the coin claims of modern smokeless performance from a muzzle loader design. A Walker may come close as far as cap and ball revolvers but in general it's nonsense.

Marketing brass frame guns and fantasy guns as being period correct "confederate" (or other nonsense) designs when they are not. Why do they think they need BS to market these things. Most people who buy them know what they are and what they want. Those who don't may get pissed when they find out they have been lied to.

I have learned over the years to not get my undies in a wad over most things (except for things our current politicians are causing) because having wadded up undies only makes me uncomfortable and not the offender. I see comments and references regularly that are just wrong but me getting bent out of shape won't make a change. I am also old enough to know that many of the things that twist up the younger generations have been in common use before they were even born. Long Colt, clip for magazine, etc. have been around forever and the world is still turning. In my younger world any handgun was called a pistol, now you get called out if you don't define what type of action it is. Yes, I know 1873 Colt's only shoot 6 rounds unlike in the movies or the full auto rifles so common in today's shows cant fire for five minutes without a mag change but the only time I mention it is when I am watching with my oldest grandson just to annoy him. Chill out a little and your Tums consumption will drop. :D

Well I was asked and I answered.

I think threads like this are useful and despite the lack of replies I am almost sure that manufacturers are paying careful attention.

There have been lots of changes for the good since the times when most of these replicas were crude junk project kit guns sold, advertised, and priced as ready to shoot out of the box.

Fit and finish is now good to outstanding thanks to CNC machines. This also makes most parts a simple drop in without any fitting, modifications or adjustment.

Pietta has relieved shooters of the old arbor to barrel fit project wedge adjustment following every barrel removal and reassembly by making properly sized arbors. This issue is a deal breaker for some people giving Pietta a great competitive advantage over other companies in this regard. They also now dovetail the front sights a nice touch for those who want their choice of sight installed.

I think the loading port issue is an easy fix for a factory as well as arbor size. They should do it.

Undersized chambers may be a good way to save costs on quality control since a properly sized revolver chamber needs to line up more precisely. Correcting this may increase production costs (significantly???.) This brings up another peeve. I have seen a current made Uberti Remington New Model Army .44 with what I would define as a reamer proof cylinder with a taper in each chamber so slight it's not visible by eye but will jam up a reamer guide long before the cutter gets deep enough to do any work. I wonder if this is a deliberate anti-reaming design. This cylinder now has a reamer guide permanently wedged in one chamber. Why ? I have a few guesses (they may not line up perfectly enough for matching chamber to barrel diameter.) but it's still annoying.

These type of threads are great for educational value as well.

My caregiver and I are working on our 64th year of marriage. It's nice to have someone who cares.
