Picked up a Fail Zero Glock 17

If you like the cosmetics (pimp gun) fine. I don't think the plating adds anything functional to a Glock.

Now that is a truly sorry comment. It is quite unnecessary to
disrespect another THR member like that. Would you call a bi-tone
Ed Brown 1911 or a Sig Sauer P226 a "pimp gun"? The plating may not
add anything, but a lot (if not all) gun manufacturers offer bi-tone
models in their lineups. Of course, its taken for granted, that you know
more than the engineers at all those gun makers.

I guess that I am opening myself up to ridicule, but I have a Gen 4 17 with the same finish and love the thing. It cleans up easier that the normal Glock finish and is more aesthetically pleasing in my eyes. For sights, I added a 10 8 U notch rear with a Dawson fiber optic front. I don’t buy that the finish increases the relability but mine has been 100% with over 1,200 rounds down the pipe.

i'm wondering if the claim of non-lubrication for the FZ coating stands on the FZ Glock, or do they recommend standard lubrication like a "normal" Glock??

it's kind of strange that FZ only offers their coatings exclusively on Glocks only.. they just refuse to coat any other make.. are there other places that offer the EXO coating??
