Lately I've been on a revolver kick and have decided to focus on pre-lock Smith and Wesson's.

I picked up a beautiful like new S&W 4" 66-2 .357mag in December and happened to find a 629-1 there today.

It was offered to me for $425 so I couldn't pass on it, this after paying $250 for the 66-2.

Here are a couple pictures of the 629-1 and one with the 66-2.

That's a nice pair of guns! Aesthetically speaking, I hate when S&W started putting those cheap looking rubber handles on them. I got one of the blued Model 29s with those also. I since have gotten wood for it.

Hey now, I went out and spent good money on those grips....:cuss:

They both came with Pachmayrs(sp?) which I can't stand, so for now they get comfy Hogue grips.

Down the road i'd like to get them some nice wood grips, actually i'm looking on ebay now.

Sorry man, no mean to offend. Mine came with Pachmayrs also. One man's meat is another man's poison. :uhoh: :)

I think you done real good!!! I'm partial to the old blued models, but those are fine looking revovers.

BigG,

Just messing with you, I love wood grips to but i'd hate to scratch or dent them.

I'll get a set for each gun eventually for show.

While I like blued guns, i just don't have the setup for storing them. Once I get a bigger safe with some kind of humidity control system then i'll buy some blued guns. I've really been eying some S&W 28-2's.

Incredible price on that one. I've been wanting a .44mag for awhile now, but I haven't found one that I can justify what it costs. Eventually a deal will come around. Great find there.

Jay,

Thanks, an hour with a Flitz like product made it look much better than in the gun store.

I'm really starting to like these 4" S&W's.
