Hey the wife has decided to let me get my k31 (asuming I can find one) sence they are geting hard to find. Got to love her sence she is being nice enough to let me get this right after I got my yugo sks.

Basicly I would like to get a picture of the ammo that is used in the k31 so I can make sure it is the correct ammo. Also a picture of a gun that is in good condition would help me in picking one out. Thanks guys.

Thanks thats a good start. Dose any one have any bigger pics or posibly know what is stamped on the bottom of each bullet?

All the surplus will come in boxes labeled 591-1100. Littlest amount I've seen is the 10 round white boxes. they will have 7.5mm labeled on them and Gewehrpatrone 11 (G11) on them. Headstamp on a open box of mine has the 2-digit year, a 9, and a large case T and a A. Trust me aimsurplus is the cheapest on the net, or go to a gunshow.

I'm not looking for on the net right now. I am going to see if the local buckeye outdoors carys it. I would hope they have some as I'm prity sure I saw some k31's out there. Not sure of the price on the guns. Calling today as soon as they open to find out.

EDIT: NOOOOOO! they are closed monday which meens I have to wate a full 24 hours to find out for sure if they have the k31's and the price :banghead:

Sorry, but I don't have any whole boxes left, only this partial box. However, there is your side view, case head view, and a pretty good view of the box minus the strip you pull off to open it.

Boy aren't these HP scanners now a days something else?

Thanks for that scan. It is exactly what I was looking for. Do places that carry the k31 generaly carry the ammo for them as well?

Thanks I'm hoping buckeye outdoors carrys some if they carry the k31's. I'm calling in the morning to check on both.

Just be careful that you don't get the French 7.5x54 ammo rather than the Swiss 7.5x55 - they look virtually identical.

Not all scanners will image 3D objects sharply. I have two; a modern one in a multifunction device, in which anything not in direct contact with the glass is fuzzy, and a very old one which does beautiful images of 3D objects like cartridges. Unfortunately, the manufacturers don't tell you about this. I suspect that it has something to do with the focal length of the scanning lens; my old flatbed scanner has a very deep body, whereas I suspect that modern very thin ones won't do the job.

I would order it from the internet. Stores that sell the ammo will probably gouge you. I found a local Dunham's that sells it for $10/box which comes out to $1/round. :what:

This is why I wanted images and info on the rounds so I can make 100% sure I get the right stuff from the get go.

Also if the store wants $10 for 10 rounds they can kiss it because I'll come home and order from aim for less.

hcker2000- Congratulations on your new rifle. I have one and it is my favorite bolt rifle, bar none. I knew it was fate when I got a 60 round package from Dan's Ammo, and saw that the production date was the same date as my birthday!

El Rojo- Your ammo was born one day earlier then me, BTW. :D

Havn't quite got one yet but the wife as aggred to let me get it. Which is the first step as we all know ;)

I called buckeye outdoors and they didnt have any. I called dunhams and they have two and they are $149 each. Seems a bit high when I can buy them online for 80 + shiping + dealer transer fees. What do you think better to fork out the 150 or go threw the motions to order online?

Consider also you will have to pay tax on the $150. I'd try and haggle with them to get it to the price it would cost you to get it online+shipping+fees. If they don't bite then do it online unless they have one that's just in magnificent condition or something.

Yea I wish I knew some one with a C&R licence that could order it for me. Then agine I'm not sure if that is even legal.
