I've been looking for a pistol caliber carbine for a while now(I do all my shooting indoors). I'm not necessarily in love with the tactical look and found a Ruger 44mag carbine at a gun show today. It's in excelent shape..no nicks or scratches on the stock, rifling is crisp and sharp, blueing is perfect. Looks like it's been shot very little. I'm sure I'll find out for myself but wanted to ask if there's anything I need to know about this rifle.

I've played with a couple of the Ruger carbines in 9mm and .44 mag. They are nice but I never liked the mags too much. The one I shot in .44 mag was picky about ammo.

I recently picked up one of the Mectechrifles in 9mm that uses a Glock 17 lower and like it a lot. The rifle shoots really great, I especially like that it takes high cap Glock mags and since I already owned a Glock 17 I had plenty of extra mags on hand but I did order a couple of the 33 rounders for fun.
I mounted a Tru-Glow red dot on it and put the laser I already had for my Glock. Here is the website http://www.mechtechsys.com/. They are kind of weird looking but I had no trouble popping 12 ounce cans at 75 yards.

Here is a pic with the stock inserts.
