I am looking forward to being done with my collection. Guns are expensive. It is stressful trying to decide which one to get next, hoping that it fits and functions. And it's stressful trying to save money in time to buy a gun before some moron at the factory redesigns it or discontinues it. Worse still, some dingbat upstate OUTLAWS the thing. But these are peripheral concerns in contrast to other issues.

I am primarily anxious to be done because I am tired of all the hoops. The big yellow form, the questions, the stress of having to splay open my life and DMV record to some guy at a gun store and having to prove time and time again via a demonstration that I know how to load, unload, and safety check a firearm.

I'm going gun shopping tomorrow. I know what I want. I know where I am going to get it. And if I can work a deal on a trade-in it will be mine. Hopefully. HOPEFULLY it will be my last. Because, frankly, I'm tired of buying. I just want to be able to sit back and look at my modest gathering knowing, they're mine and I am DONE.

Ask, and ye ...

The big yellow form
The big yellow form is history. I think it's been replaced by a big white form. No more harming little yellow creatures just to color the form. This is progress.

Well, I just bought a new rifle Tuesday night, and the Yellow Form is alive and well.

I know what you mean though. In Missouri, we have to get a 'permit to aquire' permit to buy handguns. So, that is a quick buzz kill when you see that great deal on 'XX' gun (add ten bucks, plus a week of waiting for the permit, the extra driving involved, the whole unofficial registration thing). Plus the whole transfer between states thing, another quick way to kill a sale.

Course, I have still bought what...3 long guns and 2 handguns in the past 2 years, so I guess thier grand plan of stopping gun sales isn't fully working...

yellow form is done as of the 17th i got to meet a ATF agent at the gunshop today showing them how to fill it out.. She was really friendly

Then the forces of gun control have won. They have worn you down and destroyed your will. In the process they have subverted your rights. They have reduced you to something that's less then what you were. :banghead:

Those of us that live near to you in Arizona know little or nothing of your frustration because we have never experienced it. Freedom is only a short border away. Come out of the darkness and enjoy the light ...

Worse still, some dingbat upstate OUTLAWS the thing.

I find the purchases most people regret buying, and usually sell later, are the ones in which they make fearing a certain firearm will be banned. I myself have that done that once, and of course it was never banned, and I will never let that guide my decision again.

Friend of mine was talking a couple years ago, told me he was about done with buying guns. "I've got about everything I need," he said, and catalogued for me everything he had on hand -- a carry gun, a home defense handgun, a home defense shotgun, a hunting rifle, an evil black rifle, handguns in various calibers. "So you see, I really don't need any more," he concluded, "and I'm not going to buy any more guns."

Twenty four hours later, he was on the phone. "You won't believe this screaming deal I found on a --"

I said, "What? I thought you were done buying guns."

"I was," he admitted, "but then I realized I only had one of each type I wanted. How dumb is that?"
