Well someone cancelled a special order on this so I snapped it up:

I added a TANDEMKROSS Zytel rail and rubber grip cover. Also a Burris FF III red dot. Now all I need to do is fid a consistent supply of ammo.

Not sure if the sunshade will add too much weight to the slide. I think not, but it's not necessary of course. Taking to the range today!!

It is now your responsibility to update us on how it shoots. We want hard data, dammit.

Nice looking pistols, that.

I have one, took it to the range last week. Shoots well and accurately, with one issue.

In my opinion the magazines are flawed. The feed lip on the magazine is a weak, flexible plastic. If you are not careful loading, this lip can become distorted. After loading the magazine, you need to give it a hard slap on a flat surface to seat all the bullets to the back of the magazine.

I had five failures to feed out of 100 rounds, and all the failures involved the weak feed lip letting rounds jam together.

What did it set you back?

At about $250-300 I'd probably buy the first one I see just because it looks like fun to shoot and the non-reloadable ammo is still much less expensive than the hard to reload FN5.7, but at the $500 they've been asking for them around here, not a chance I'll get one.

They're interesting guns. Hornady also has a new personal defense ammo brewed for shorter barrel, and it's penetration and expansion is amazing. Tests can be found on YouTube. These rounds suggest that the PMR-30 might possibly be suitable for self-defense. Home defense when I'm not here was my wife's concern. And even if she misses, she has up to 29 more chances to try again. :)

I got one for my wife, who wanted to shoot, but was not comfortable with any number of other guns. (I have a very smooth S&W 66, tuned for competition, and she could handle the trigger, but her groups were patterns.)

I've shot the PMR-30, but haven't gotten her to try it yet; she CAN rack the slide. I've been very impressed with the gun, so far, but, I've only put about a hundred rounds through it; thus far. No problems of any sort. The word on the 'net is that the new ones are rock solid. It shoots like a LASER. No recoil, but a LOT of noise and flame (often seen as a firey smoke ring!)

Another YouTube video compares performance of the PMR-30 to the FN 5.7, and it does quite well when using comparable (ball) ammo.

If my wife really likes it, I may have to get another one for me... (If I'm away from the house WITH the gun, it's not serving it's intended purpose.)

With regard to it being non-reliable ammo -- I've not heard that as being a problem with .22 WMR. It's not cheap and you seem to get more quality for your money. Pricier types of .22 LR seems to be more reliable, too.

I bought a new one two weeks ago because my father had taken over mine. We took it out Wednesday and put 100 rounds of CCI through it. First round was a stovepipe!!!!!! The next 99 were flawless. I wasn't really shooting for accuracy and all my shots were somewhat left at 10 yards until I made the adjustment in alignment.
The gun is LOUD. Recoil is nearly zero and I fired 20 shots very rapidly with all 20 being on target. My father is 93 and uses his for HD because of the low recoil. As has already been mentioned, if they have some good SD ammo then this is a good gun because even I might hit someone with 30 rounds. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of the slide. It is just a bit "different".
I paid $400 for mine which is $100 less than I have seen in the past two years.

Very nice set up! I would love to find one at reasonable price . But haven't seen one! At any price around here. I hope they can get more guns out & get prices down! I have plenty of ammo. Now if Kel-Tec will do its part!

Cabela's has the single boxes of ammo on sale in their bargain cave for $22.99. Item# IK-215995

I've got 5 boxes of the Hornady Critical Defense on order for $13.99 a box, but it may be a while. (And shipping adds about a $1 to each box.) I've been able to pick up other recommended (by Kel-Tec) ammo locally for $14 - $16. It's not cheap, but neither is .22LR any more. The guns is supposed to be picky about ammo and K-T says don't buy any foreign-made stuff. I picked up several boxes of Fiocchi (which K-T specifically warned against) when I bought it -- before reading their warning -- and it shoots beautifully. Subsequent purchases came from their "recommended" list.

I just ordered 15 boxes of CCI at $13.99 per 50. With shipping that will be closer to $14. This was from Palmetto.

Well, it isn't too consistent with feeding. I tried several different ammos and the Hornady critical defense worked the best but there were still FTE's, and the gun seemed very sensitive to limp wristing. I don't believe I was doing that, but it's as though I had to make a special effort to preclude any muzzle rise at all, and thus accuracy suffered with that on my mind.

BTW it had the same issues before I added the scope, and I have seen videos of the PMR-30 performing well with the same scope. So I figure the springs just need some time to break in, but I didn't buy the gun for SD anyway, so it's not a life or death issue. Still, it doesn't perform as it should IMHO.

Agree on comment regarding the 5.7 as being a PIA to reload, but reload it I do, and even though it's time consuming I enjoy the process. The 5.7 pistol has been rock solid, as has my 5.7 upper for the AR and that's a hoot!
