I had a couple of pocket semis that just didn't run - so I'm comfortable with a 642 or 432 and a speed loader backup. I've trained with snubbies so I don't feel that I can't handle them.

I prefer a belt bigger cap semi (Glock) and an extra mag but sometimes it's just too hot here. Wah, wah. I give up some ability for an intense critical incident - my choice to gamble.

I like shooting the snubs better than my 380, also.

Like NOW? :D Supposed to be 100 here in Corpus next couple of days with 80 percent plus humidity and we're going to be one of the coolest spots in the state. Glad we didn't get that storm in Florida, but we sure coulda used the rain.

Hey, nothing wrong with a snubby for personal defense, been working for off duty and plain clothes cops for a century. This is the era of the auto pistol, but that don't mean snubbies suddenly don't work.

AUTO for me

I used to carry J frame size, 5 shot revolvers, but have switched to semi auto pistols instead.
I go with an alloy framed SIG 232 equipped with night sights, in .380ACP. This gun has excellent handling, mild recoil and for a small gun, just amazing accuracy. I have shot 150 out of 150 qualification drills with it. It has also been 100% reliable.

When the SIG is to big, I carry a BERETTA Tomcat in .32ACP. I used this gun for several years and then my ex-wife just had to have it, so I bought another.
Like the SIG, it has proven accurate and easy to shoot. It cannot match the reliability of the SIG with all ammo, but using AGUILLA or S&B fmj for practice and COR BON Powerball for carry has proven to be an excellent choice.

The BERETTA is lighter and more compact than the J frames and the SIG is about the same weight and only slightly bulkier.

Both guns are easy to shoot, which is something I cannot say about some of the other small autos and revolvers. I shot the RUGER LC9 and KAHR CW9 and would not shoot them again, if I have a choice.

I pocket carry:
Kel-tec PF9 9mm
Ruger LCP 380
Kel-Tec P3AT 380

And rarely a Para Ordinance P10 45acp

Years ago I pocket carried:
Kel-Tec P-11 9mm
S&W 60 38sp

This is a pic of my shirt pocket over my heart for 380s.
The 9mm must be carried in the inside jacket pocket over my heart.

I don't always pocket carry, but when I do...

it's a 642. Or occasionally a 637. More often than not, the 642. Don't pocket carry very often. REALLY want to get a Cimarron Thunderer with a 3 1/2 inch barrel in .45 Colt for winter coat pocket carry, but I digress... Lately, it's a GLOCK19 IWB. Though that's not what you asked...:):)

While on duty, an automatic GLOCK 23. Summer, light clothing off duty LC9 (Remington Golden Saber PD issue) or RUGER LCR w/ Remington 158 gr. 38 SPEC +P's lead semi wadcutter hollow point and two speed strips. I can, reload the gun quickly, lots of years carrying revolver before auto carry and proficient, with both.

I mainly pocket carry at home a Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace laser in a Desantis nemesis holster.

I mainly pocket carry at home a Ruger LCP with Crimson Trace laser in a Desantis nemesis holster.

Me too, until I got in the habit of leaving the gun in the jacket.
Then the PF9 and P3AT got their own Desantis' and jackets.

I sweat so much when I bike, that I have to swap out all my clothes.

I carry either a KelTec PF9 or a Colt Agent. Either one goes strong side front pants pocket unless I'm wearing a jacket. If so I frequently go to the jacket pocket.

I pocket carry a S&W M&P 340 in a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster at all times. I find the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel .357 to be manageable. Otherwise I'd load .38+p. Love pocket carry.
