If you don't see this as a question worth answering then don't post.

43 votes so far with people favoring an AWB over CCW. That's kinda what I figured.

Neither!

I would support neither, screw them, I will not give up any more of my rights willingly or unwillingly. This question is a double negative as far as I'm concern.

Okay, obviously neither is acceptable. It's a theoretical question that isn't expected to mirror reality, sort of a "which would you rather do, eat a tarantula or kiss Hillary" type of thing.

Given only those choices under penalty of death (or the aforementioned kiss?) I went awb because I lose less in theory there. An awb means I may keep my AK and lose the chance to buy another with underfolder, etc. etc. but I can still keep all the just-as-lethal goodies as well as my CHL. Losing the CHL disarms me worse, in other words.

Any disarming is unacceptable, I'm just saying I choose to eat the tarantula, given no other option.

It's not a question of "which one?"

It's a question of "which one first?" because the other ban would be close behind.

That's reality. Any other thinking is make believe.

Yes, just like the last one.

Once again I must clarify that NEITHER is acceptable, but what we are discussing is the reality of our situation. As one pointed out, we DID have an AWB and a bans on CCW are in place. While we fight for all rights regarding the private ownership of arms, a trade off such as this is not as far fetched as we would like it to be and may be a reality in the future...

Allowing one ban is NOT a trade-off. It's a delay before the next ban.

The trade-off concept is a faulty premise. Thus, many people here refuse to vote, and rightly so.

Let's think more offense, rather than defense:

Of the following, which encroachment on rights should pro-gun people go after next?

a. The machine gun ban, or
b. The entire BATFE.

Either "option" is unacceptable. We as gun owners need to not allow our elected representatives to foist any more draconian gun laws on us.

Come on guys, we're in good company here. No reason to be insecure. It's kinda like when you and a bunch of guys talk about who you'd go gay for. I'd for one change my sexual preference for Danial Day Lewis. Now THAT'S a MAN, let me tell ya.

Anyways, like I was saying, just an innocent question, that's all.

Probably should have put more thought into it before making the question "Which would you allow?"

"Which right would you rather retain?" would have been better, or many other variations.

It is not really a choice of which we should allow. They will do what they want in spite of us unless we have greater numbers, money, or influence. It is that simple.

The AWB will only increase the value of my holdings, unless they come to get them. That will be terrible.

Many feel this way but we have no way to back it up really.

That's like asking, "Which would you allow, a ban on books or a ban on Internet discussion forums?"

Both would be completely unacceptable.

I wouldn't give up either. If you give up one, the anti gun folks will be even more encouraged to try to take away the other. Never give up you liberties!

Might as well ask "which would you rather give up, your eldest child or your youngest child"
