I have an EAA Witness in .40 S&W. It is a ported model.
The first time I shot it a couple weeks ago I noticed it shot about a foot low at 30 yards. Yesterday I got serious, broke out the sandbags, and paced off 25 yards. I really focused on shooting as good as I can. My last ten shots were only about 5" low, with most being in an acceptable 4" group, and a couple ugly fliers.
I don't consider myself a real good pistol shot. I don't get a lot of practice and haven't had any real training, but on a good day I can shoot 3 to 4" groups from a rest at 25 yards consistently. For comparison I broke out the old Ballestor Molina and put 7 rounds in a 3.5" group around the bullseye.
My question is: does a ported gun shoot different? Is something wrong with my technique? I'm wondering because it seemed to shoot higher (less low?) when I really focused on getting a good group and holding the gun right.
Also, a taller rear sight won't solve the problem. This thing already has the tallest rear sight I've ever seen.
