I have one of those Savage 93-17s. Mine is the 93R17-GLV; the lefty one in a wood stock. Mine doesn't have the Accu-trigger. I was a bit bummed-out about that after I did a search for the gun to see if I paid too much for it at the Reno Hilton gunshow last week. I did, by about $50 over MSRP, but when I found a website devoted to Savage firearms, I saw thereon that a precision trigger is available for it for $80. A gunsmith has to put it in, but that's a small price to pay for a trigger that will go down to 10 ounces trip weight. Mine has the BSA Sweet 17 scope on it. It's very clear and sharp and has a bullet-drop turret on the top. You zero for 100 yards, then adjust the turret from 100 out to 300 and bang away. Mine is the 3-12X variety. I have yet to shoot this gun. I was going to do so today, but the snow started to flurry, it was sort of windy and the RSO was cold and wanted to go home. There will be time enough when it gets warmer. I have a friend who just loves the 17HMR caliber. He went shooting squirrels up at Cedarville, CA this past week and shot hundreds of them with his 17. He brought back 16 empty boxes of shells from the trip. Assuming 80% accuracy, he hit over 600 of the little fuzzballs. I couldn't go...
