Post where you keep/store your firearms!

I am always armed, including at home. I have 4 storage places for handguns:

a little Stack-on like the one pictured bolted to the floor in my bedroom closet - holds about 4;
a bigger Stack-on hidden in my basement holds about 10;
a steel pushbutton lock box near my bed (see photo); and
on my person

No gun is left unattended unless it is in one of the lock boxes.

I'm at the level of esqstu above: small Stack-on and V-Line "safes" that are California certified.

Something that keeps out kids, wandering guests and smash-and-grab thieves, that's all I need.

I don't even bother with fire protection. All my guns are utilitarian and can be replaced with insurance or whatever. Also, there is no fire protection within my budget limit that can protect against a California-style fire on my home.

I keep my long guns in a very nice wooden gun cabinet in the living room, that is more furniture than gun safe. Handed down from my dad, it's really nice with a glass front door holds six guns, and storage beneath. It locks...... but you could get in it real easy.

The original poster is obviously excited and new to firearms. He's asking a good question that may not be worded to everybody's liking. However, experienced gun owners should be able to read between the lines and provide at least some useful information. Getting smart and saying you have no guns may be funny and cute to you, but they're useless responses mostly. You can provide at least some useful information without exposing your GPS coordinates to your underground bunker. THR should be a welcoming environment. There are plenty of other gun sites where the immature antics are unchecked and even sometimes encouraged. Start with Glocktalk.

I agree, let's give him at least a real response, then go joke, but provide at least provide something useful.

As for Glocktalk... I avoid most of the sections there except for one that is largely self-policed. The level of idiocy there is about as bad as reading a liberal newspaper and reader comments.

I keep them in a safe. My carry gun is on me or in one of the Gun Vault lock boxes; I have a youngster at home or it would be sitting out. I'm not worried about my son messing with it as much as his friends.

Teaching your children about firearm safety and respect is fundamental if you have a gun and a kid.

My dad taught me at an early age about firearms and I have never felt the urge to pack a Glock to impress my friends because there's no mystery to it anymore and I know the responsiblity that comes with it.
