I have questions regarding two of your photos...
Zak, yours first as it's on this page.
The 2nd photo, of the AR10, shows a thinner profile bbl. with the muzzle brake on it.

Is this the newer profile bbl. from ArmaLite?
I'm asking if you could possibly show this bbl. from a couple of different angles, as the bbl. on the AR.15.com/ArmaLite 2003 Special Edition Black Rifle is of a similar profile, if not the exact same one.
It was initially thought that the bbl. would be a bull bbl. of 20", but, the profile is trimmed down instead.
I am guilty of screaming the loudest about this, but some of the other buyers of the SEBR weren't too happy with the only picture we've seen of the Rifle so far.
Our esteemed Moderator has been very patient with me especially for my moaning and groaning about it. He wisely advised me to wait until I see it to make any decisions about changing it.
Your picture may shed a LOT of light on what the bbl. is going to look like in real life...
If you could, more pix would be great so the guys at AR15.com could get a better idea of what they're going to get.

There is a pic at the start of the thread of your M14 with what appears to me to be a Weaver V24 scope on it.
Is that what it is?

My AR10 was built by JP Enterprises, and this is their Lightweight contour barrel -- so it's probably not the barrel you're going to get. It's approx 0.725" forward of the gas block, and it looks thinner than that under the handguard. For comparison, the O.D. of the muzzle comp is 1.0" If you still want pictures, I can post 'em.

It looks quite similar to the SEBR's profile.
I guess the idea was to approximate the "M14" bbl. weight .
