I was sneaky, ProCharger.

I *did* edit my post to include the caliber and model.

SteveW13, that's the standard H-S Precision stock as offered on the 700 PSS when ordered by a given law enforcement agency. The guns don't always come in black - as you can see, this one's olive drab with black flecks. If you go to the H-S Precision website, you can see all the different colors their stocks come in, black is just one choice, and the one most people associate with the Remington 700 PSS.

It's not an AR, or AK, but I wasn't old enough to buy firearms when they banned AR and AK series weapons in the PRK.

So, sujbmitted for your approval, my 'tactical' hunting rifle specifically protected by name under the federal AWB! (now with 10 round mags, not shown.)

Can't wait for the tax return to arrive. Congrats on yet another fine rifle ProCharger. It seems that my SAR-1 will have to remain lonely until Uncle Sam decides to send me my allowance. At which time I will add an AK-74 variant to my evil rifle collection. I want an AR....But, I NEED a 5.45x39 AK to keep my 7.62x39 AK company on those cold Missouri winter nights...LOL!!
Oooops....There I go babbling again. This is beginning to shape up like the diary of a madman...hehehehe!

how does a harmonic stabilizer differ from a silencer? or does it?

They are two different things. A harmonic stabilizer deals with increasing accuracy by reducing the effects of vibration on the barrel as the bullet is passing through. And as you know, a suppressor/silencer reduces the sound caused by the high pressure gasses leaving the muzzle after the bullet has exited.
