Now, over the next couple of months, we’ve got a couple of issues: gun control. (Applause.) I just came from Denver, where the issue of gun violence is something that has haunted families for way too long, and it is possible for us to create common-sense gun safety measures that respect the traditions of gun ownership in this country and hunters and sportsmen, but also make sure that we don’t have another 20 children in a classroom gunned down by a semiautomatic weapon -- by a fully automatic weapon in that case, sadly.

Does President Obama really believe this, or is he intentionally telling a mistruth to pander to his base out in San Francisco?

This administration is increasingly desperate. Obama has climbed out on a limb with this gun control initiative, and now he's sawing the limb off behind him with his lies and cheap propaganda tricks.

He is ignorant that a semi is not an auto.

But being the smartest an in the room no one dares to correct him.

Well, if that were the case, you'd think they would have banned machine guns in CT instead of semi's....belt-fed MG's still legal!

Someone likely corrected him after the speech but what the heck. He's been elected to a second term and, to him and his anti-gun fanatics, the ends justify the means.

He and his party better start getting used to big disappointments in the future.

The Lies keep comming and don't forget this next election!
If "They" can stretch this issue our long enough and then blame the other side for not allowing Gun Control Legislation to pass; then it is another reason for fake outrage and Soccer Mom's to vote "Their" side again.
I am in favor of someone just shouting our "LIAR" every once in a while.

He must have read his TelePromp Ter incorrectly. I cannot recall one speech from him without the obvious use of one. Even during "open mic" Q&A's the stuff is read off a TelePrompTer.

C'mon guys he clearly misspoke! Stop trying to fight this common sense legislation with political gamesmanship. You all know what he meant!!!

Blackstone,

Words have meaning, and the office of the President is an influential one. If he misspoke publicly, he needs to correct himself just as publicly. Otherwise, he is willfully leading people to believe an untruth that would have them support revocation of a civil right and a fundamental change in American society.

That, or he's a fool, a liar, or both.

Don't worry, I know that. I was just using the same excuse his little minion DeGette used.

I just sent him a letter stating exactly this.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for a reply.

57 states. Navy 'corpse'man. Jedi mind meld. Intercontinental railroad.

Really? Are we really surprised? Empty suit. Empty head.

I thought America would eventually wake up and ship that liar out of the country, but it appears the population has bred a majority of idiots. What a joke.
