Or just that in his eyes all AR's are "fully automatic." Its Obama, he doesn't know guns, or the first thing about them. Its asking a little much of him to know the difference between a semi-auto and a full auto, especially when he is trying to pitch his flawed lie. I am always of the opinion of that its more likely that they are incompetent and not intentionally maleficent. Just their maleficence is a secondary effect of their incompetence.
I thought the AR was recovered from the trunk of Adam's car. That's what every news organization WAS reporting. Then the whole investigation went to crap. And so did the reporting. Did no one else see that during the first day? Thought they even had video of the police recovering it from the car.

kyhunter and BigBore44, let's stop following in Lenin's footsteps here as has been established numerous times on this board and proven by search warrants, no AR-15 was found in the vehicle, that was a Saiga shotgun. Do your research I'm tired of hearing this, it makes us look like conspiracy theorists when we repeat that. That was a mistake by the media because they don't know the difference between a Saiga shotgun and an AR-15 we here should know our guns better than them.

Not only on deliberately confusing the public over semi-auto v full-auto, but on the issue of magazine size bans. According to a Hartford CT newspaper leak, Adam Lanza changed magazines frequently and dropped 30 round magazines still containing 10 to 16 unfired rounds. He had 12 magazines by most reports and two un-used at the end of the rampage, and fired round count is usually reported as 153-154. Ten magazines x 30 rounds = 300 rounds - 153 = 147 unfired rounds in the discarded magazines. Lanza could have carried out the same carnage with 15 round magazines. Chou at Virginia Tech used 10 and 15 round magazines to kill more people. Banning magazine sizes will not protect you from crazy people, especially crazies with months of planning before their rampages. It will criminalize the millions of Americans who own AR-15, M1 carbine, M1A rifle etc. with standard size magazines of 15, 20, 30 round capacity.

The documents released last week said they recovered 3 magazines. Still no official count of rounds fired.
It was a Saiga 12 in the trunk. The video of the police clearing it quite clearly shows it is not an AR by how the LEO is grasping a charging handle located on the right side of the receiver.

I think he knew EXACTLY what he was saying. He qualified the statement. Push #1 for gun control didn't work, so he's going for Push #2.
