I tried to do a comparing to the varmint and varget today. I was off today. Took my 22 along too. Figured it would keep me busy while the mini cooled. But i couldn't keep groups with the 22 even. Also forgot to bring mags for the mini. At least i got out.

Did you get good function with the varmit, I figured you would.

I did that once, my son gave me such a dirty look. I've done it with the 10-22s and the cz 22. I guess I should just stick to bolts......
I've done it with bolt guns too.

Took my new Howa Mini action in 223 to the range, had to feed it carefully to avoid the round dropping out of the huge hole in the bottom - the hole where the mag should have been.

I have 3 mags, forgot them all.

That's a dam Greek tragedy. My dad used to take the bolts out and store them in the safe that way. Took two guns for a match and left one bolt at home. I was home on leave from the navy so he insisted I shoot....

I’m very low on 3031and I’m hearing whispers about discontinuing, and it’s the only one I use in my 32WS -I know, a lever gun! And have searched locally with no luck. Oh well! And I have found the 8208XBR one of the most versatile powders but can’t find it either. And for us old guys these prices are making some of the guns wall hangers. I have to search the net for powders and load data for my 303 Savage (another damn lever gun). Been hoarding what I have for loading and for the most part they ( those guns) just hang on the pegs. Sure miss shooting them.

3031 is really available here in Memphis, I haven't seen 4064 in a year. You may also like tac or reliader 10x. I find 10x sits a long time in most places.

Shooting times did an article on reloading the 303 savage using newer powders.
I've found each class of cartridges has about a dozen powders that will give suitable loads. Losing my favorite powder won't make my gun a wall hanger.

Thanks. Let me take a look. I may have powder that will work.

So what powder did you get? My choice has been AA2230. Sometimes you got to go with what you can get versus what you prefer.
