M1A is mint, original owner, under 100rds through it.

The AK is a underfolder Norinco, also preban, 2nd or third owner, current owner says he's shot only a couple boxes through it but has no idea of how many rounds the previous guy put through it. One mag, no bayonet.

Both are the same price.....

Which one do I buy?? I don't "NEED" either of them... but I'm looking for a new toy...

Hey I own both and had alot of AK(including Norinco preban) go thru my hands. Get the early M1A without a doubt.!!! They were made with Military parts early on (in the 80's and early 90s) and ,overall were better IMHO than the newer ones. Norinco AKs IMHO are not as good quality as some of the eastern european ones., unless we are talking 'the legend series' which I believe was made by Poly industries.;)

I bought a pre-ban Nork AK from a friend of mine. It came with a case of Wolf ammo and 4 magazines, and has the bayonet. Cost? $400.00.

You haven't bought that M1A yet? :neener:

pre ban?

I wouldnt pay a premium for an AK underfolder just because its old. There are ample currently available AK varients that will accept a folding stock (though not an underfolder). If you just want an underfolder cuz its cool (I happen to agree) then there are (were?) a bunch of the polish examples put out by Vector Arms at a pretty affordable price (and brand spanking new).

Not to say that the Norkys arent great rifles, but there is no way it should be in the same price category as a mint M1A. That is either a drasticly over priced AK or a very good bargain on the M1A, either way I would go with the springfield.

I'm buying the M1A....
After further reflection, it was a dumb question to begin with!

thanks for all the replies. I appreciate everyone's time.
