precision AR build

for a precision build, is weight enen a consideration? just how mobile do you want to be with this thing, that a few ounces matters? if ultimte accuracy is your goal then go monolithic, if you want as much accuracy as you can while maintaining a quick moving rifle, then go forged and freefloat.

on another note, what's the source for the shooting mat?

i don't expect it to be super-quick. SPR type role. but ounces add up. btw, both choices are free float.

(I know they're quite expensive for a shooting mat but they're very nice and to be honest, I won this off the prize table at a rifle match. The mat is padded. it's wider than my HP mat so my elbows don't hang off, but it's shorter, so my feet do haha. It's easy to carry. I just slip the straps on the mat through a couple molle loops on the bottom of my eberlestock lo-drag. I'm quite fond of it.)

FINALLY got my optic AND ATACS scope cover in on same day (today) and took it to the range. I put the geissele SSA in as well.

Optic is the super-cool USO 1-8x and the suppressor cover is made by Armageddon Gear (highly recommended)

WWGuns in AL did a great job with the camo dip. very pleased with the way it turned out.

I tried some through-scope pics but they didn't turn out well.

If you order from botach, keep an eye on your bank account afterwards.

I can't prove it, but Capital One detected fraud on my credit card right after I ordered from them. Got a new card and no harm to me beyond some time on the phone to say what they should pay and deny, but I'd sure be careful with them!

unfortunately, not too well. well enough to hit 10" plate at 500y, but not close to expectations

i am going to try some different ammo. first trip out to the range my barrel nut and the larue QD tensioning screws were loose, so apparently i had my head up my butt when i was assembling it.

Don't feel bad. I relied on the thread locker on my LaRue Mount to hold per instructions, rather than cleaning it and applying new. After sighting it in, I could hit paper once at 200 yards with ten rounds. I thought I needed to get my eyes checked, but the rings were just loose.

Wasted $20 or more that day...
