Academy in Plano had a shipment of ammo in yesterday. Bought 2-250 rounds UMC for $56.95 each. Much higher than I wanted to pay, but my son and I need some 9mm for a match in a few weeks. There were 6 more packs and Monarch steel cased 9mm, 40 and 45, plus some .223 and 7.62X39.

Central NC at China mart: bought the last two bricks at $16 each, last box of 38 and 357 and only in FMJ. No 40/9mm/45. My bud at kingdomarms.com has plenty and reasonably priced. He may be putting up an online store. He has cases of rifle ammo stacked and his display ammo section is full. I picked up several calibers last week plus a good supply of reloading goodies. wc

Colorado is bone dry on 45, 9mm, 38,
380, 300wsm, 300 win mag, 7mm,and 308. I scored abox of 45 winchester white box for $50 and it was the last box.

Our Bible professor is a gun owner and as a present for teaching I gave him a brick of 22s. He had been looking for some but they were unavailable. Surprised the heck out of the rest of the class that we were shooting enthusiasts. Sure am glad to have a few rounds stored. A buddy wanted to buy a few and I had to say no. LOL, buddy favors only go so far, wc

north dakota report:

walmart shelves are empty. i am mostly bummed out that i can't find the low end cheap 22lr.

if 223 is cheap at $479 then how come no one has offered to buy the 500 rounds of 223 i have for sale for $250. :)

i checked a big shop in montana and they have 223 for about that price and no 9mm. the miles city shop did indicate that there was a container of PMC waiting to clear customs and he though that the prices would go up, but with the demand i don't see how that can be.

Locally (San Antonio/New Braunfels) all of the "sporting goods" (cabella's, academy, WM, etc) are out of handgun ammo. Was at a local store yesterday picking up dies for 357 and the clerk there was bemoaning that he was out of SP Mag primers for his personal loading. He helped me cart some stuff out to the truck, and liked to have wet himself when I gave him 1k of the SP Mag primers I happened to have with me. He tried to pay me for 'em - but he's ALWAYS treated me VERY well, so I told him to keep it and pass it along some time.
Sometimes, it ain't about the money....

Keep tellin' ya'll - time ta invest in a reloader! When ammo's cheap, buy it. When it ain't - or when ya can't find it, make it!

Jest got done reloadin' 1k of 380....gonna do another 2k over the next week or two, then be done with 'em fer a while!

Demand has been unprecedented lately with resulting shortages and inflated prices. The situation should improve as folks who wanted to stockpile find their shelves full and ammo makers can get caught up with orders. Hopefully prices will moderate once the rush is over, too.

The last time I bought surplus 5.56 I paid $119 for 1,000 rounds. The last time I bought 7.62x39 it was $59 for 1,100 rounds. The last time I bought 7.62x51 I paid $89 for 1,000 rounds from India or some such place. I guess it's been a while since I bought this stuff, though.

I think maybe Georgia is in good shape, as that's where the OP is,

Not where I've been looking. Having a very hard time finding .38 Special. 9mm, .40 & .45 can be found with some looking. .223/5.56 can be found, but I refuse to pay $.45 per round for something that costs >$.10 to produce. Not to mention I stocked up when SS109 ammo could be had for $.15 each.

Gander Mountain has A ton of ammo. They are gouging big time with unheard of prices. $799. for 1000 223 $79.95 for Black hills .45 $49.95 For remmington .38spl 20rounds of wolf 7.62x39 $14.95 etc.
I have not bought much from Gander. I hope others will remember their pricing when supply gets back to normal.

Wow...totally not that way here. Gander Mountain had not 1 single round of 9mm...not one round. They had a few boxes of WWB .45 230s for $39. Seemed to be plenty of .40. Very few .38 or .357.

On the other hand, there was plenty of .223. They even had several boxes of WWB 5.56 Nato FMJ.

Tons of 30-06, .270, 30-30.
