I can get a EAA witness tanfoglio 9MM LNIB with the .22 conversion kit, for $400. What do you think? I am having some trouble finding anyone with this in stock to price compare. So I reach out to THR and its collective wisdom. Plus I have read mostly good about this line of pistols, but any more input from owners would be appreciated.

That's about the going rate. Consider $300 for the pistol and $100 for the conversion kit. I am an extensive Tanfoglio user (though only have one EAA Witness in my stable at the moment) and have had great experiences. There are those who have had trouble with EAA, and the Witness is Tanfoglio's most basic pistol (in the rest of the world, it is called the Tanfoglio Force).

Is this the match series or the small frame version?
I have several witness versions, if this is the match series, it is a great deal. If it is the small frame version, that is still a good price. The last time I checked the 22 conversion was $225-250 depending which frame you had.

If I had the chance to buy it at that price, I would take it. I tend to like the pistol.

Here are some pictures if it helps, this is pretty much all the information I have on it so far.

I haven't seen the EAA Witness going for 300 bux in over ten years.
If it were me, I'd jump on it.
The last time I bought an ambidextrous safety for a Witness, the ambi was over 60 bux.
The .22 conversion kit was quite a bit more, even then.

OK so it is the large frame set (.22 conversion came in the box). Both barrels have the windage/elevation adjustable sights. It is in pretty good shape, and I got the gun for $375+$35 transfer. I would have pictures, but since I am in california, no taking it home for 10 days. So did i do well?

Tanfoglio Force Carry

Same gun as Witnes. Mine was just marked Tanfoglio Force Carry. No conversion kit. Just lime green plastic case with Tanfoglio in large white letters, 2 hi-cap mags, 2 bore brushes, Tanfoglio owner mag, frame is marked Made in "Italy". $310 otd. Poly gun. at base of butt on frame, small letters, marked Witness-P-S. 500 rounds, two failures to feed. Light jack of slide, gun goes into battery (Break in period??) .

Is this pistol covertable to other cal.? If so, how?

Thanks

I do not know too much about these pistols, but from what I have read, the older large frame witness pistols can accept larger caliber conversions like 45. I will certainly be looking into this possibility. I just need to get mine back first, oh thrusday the 29th, you cannot come soon enough.

This will be a large-frame. Sometime around 2005 or so, EAA went to one frame-size for all their calibers, which of course was the large-frame. All newer pistols are going to be large-frame (and yours is new). Certainly all frames with the rail incorporated are large-frame. This one will accept all currently-produced conversion kits except for those made for polymer guns.

Conversion

Are the conversion kits available for the poly guns also? .40 to 9mm, or to .45?

Seem like this would entail New slide/barrel combo and new mags. Different recoil springs? So the frame would be the only universal piece, correct?

Hmm...Seems like the old Sig Pro barrel only swap for a different caliber was a sweeter idea.

That sounds like a good deal. I bought mine a year ago for $300 with 3 mags. So with the .22 conversion, I would have bought it. You'll be happy. I love mine.

Conversion

Hello Guys,

I'll ask again...Are the conversion kits available for the poly guns also? If so, what exactly do the kits entail? How much? .40 to 9mm, and/or .40 to .45

Thanks

Poly conversions are available, but you have to get those for the poly-framed pistols. The steel-frame slides don't interchange with the poly and vice-versa.

Appreciations

Ash...Just to let you know.

I have limited time on this forum, still fairly new. I have shot for many years, and have served my time with all of our favorite Uncle Sam.

I don't want to leave anyone out, but yourself, Armoredman, and Walt Sherrill's comments have always been very much apprciated by me. I think guys like yall (an Oklahoma colloquilisam) are what helps to make this forum one of the most informative places out there for firearm information.

Guys...Thanks much for your input and knowledge

Gunner
