I have a Springfield P9 (tanfoglio TZ 75) in .40 S&W. These are essentially the same guns that are now imported by EAA as their Witness line. Since it is in .40, I'm curious if I could use any of the EAA conversion kits. I'm looking at 38 Super and maybe 10MM. Anybody have any experience?

The standard size like your P9 was made for calibers up to .40.
EAA has stopped selling that frame size and now all frames are the large size which is used for all calibers up to .45ACP and 10mm.

Your P9 is the original standard size and is totally unsuited for anything near the 10mm in power and the frame is too small to handle anything larger then the .40. Larger magazines like the 10mm will not fit the magazine well of your P9, and I doubt the frame is suitable for the hot .38 Super.
As I recall, some ISPC shooters back in the 80's experimented with the Tanfoglio pistol with the .38 Super to meet the power requirement rule and they had problems with the guns not standing up.

So your P9 probably isn't suitable for the .38 Super and simply isn't usable at all with the 10mm.

I was hoping since the frame seemed bigger than my CZ 75 that it was the 'big' frame. But you are right, an email to EAA (which they responded to rather quickly) confirmed that I could use their .22 conversion, and their 9MM conversion, but not the 10MM or the 38 Super.

Which model P9 in 40?

Those are not commonly talked about so I am curious. I have a P9 IPSC ULTRA in 40. Great gun and lots of fun to shoot.

That's awesome! I haven't shot mine much, I bought it mostly to add to my collection of CZ's and CZ clones.

They are great guns and I had one like yours. I sold it to my buddy and he had the rear sight pop off if I remember right. Never did find it so he put a red dot on it and still shoots it.
