Prices seen at Academg this Monday morning.

Well I showed up an hour before rhey opened and found myself third in line. I picked up some 223 and 22lr. Prices were:

1,000 rounds of Federal 223.....$449.99

CCI mini mags.....$7.99 each. 100 round plastic box.

9mm Lawman brand was $13.99

Why pay .45 per round when you can patronize fellow THR members by paying $1 per round?

Assuming before tax, that compares to this time last month at Academy as follows:

Federal 223... $419.99 (up 7%)

CCI case of 16 boxes @$99.99 or $6.25/bx (up 28%, but allow for the case discount)

And I recall bulk UMC 9mm was roughly the equivalent of $12/bx.

Yep the UMC bulk worked out to $11.45 a box @$229/1,00
The last batch I bought was $239/1,000 and the works out to $11.95 a box. The 9mm was purchased last month.

Picked up a 20 round box of Monarch 5.56mm steel-cased ammo for $6.50 after taxes. Unfortunately, they have a one box per caliber per person 3 box maximum right now to serve as many customers as possible right now.

West Side Academy. There was a lot of bulk 22lr today. They even got a second truck at 10 am that was full of 22lr from mini mags to Remington buckets and everything inbetween. Lots of 223/556 too.

Yup. Whether you reload or otherwise maintain a stash of ammo, this situation is temporary and the choice of panic-or-patience is for each to make.

I would not expect that to happen as long as wealth redistribution continues to placate a majority. But eventually, the economy will fail and political paradigms must then change.

Unfortunately the Academy stores over on this side have no stock. I have picked up 8-10 boxes though with the 1 box per caliber thing. I think the drive out to EP is 800 miles. Too far.:banghead:

I've had good luck at the Academy's in Houston. It can be hit or miss on what a store will get in, but usually there is something that I can shoot. Got to get there early though...
