Primers shipped without Hazmat tag!

Hazmat labeling and the licensing/permitting of the shipper is required by federal law in the US under DOT regulations. There is no lawful shipping of primers without it …..
Who actually made the delivery? Fedex, UPS or USPS?
If Academy does their own deliveries, then they’re not considered to be a “common carrier” and DOT regs wouldn’t apply.
On the other hand……

I just bought a brick of Rem 1 1/2s 4 days ago at our Sportsman's Warehouse and I paid $54.99 for the brick. I thought to myself, I thought the price went up, but then realized it did, I was paying $44.11 a brick so they went up $11.00.
All the other brands went way up in price but the Remington primers are the only primers they sell that will ring up as a brick price and not the sleeve price.
I'll be going back after Christmas and get another brick.

Every HazMat package should have shipping papers attached to the package.
Who ever is fulfilling Academy’s orders is exposing the company to astronomical fines.

Must be a different policy by state or region then because the Academy site flat refused to allow me to continue with an online primer order.

Regional differences or store management policies?
As a test, I set my store to a local one in Texas and added 1000 CCI primers to my basket and went through the check out process until it got to payment method. Then I backed out of it and emptied my basket, but it was letting me purchase online. I then changed my store to Kissimmee FL and did the same thing with no hiccups. I don't know if it would help you, but have you tried changing stores?

Yes, but it probably uses location data to check my eligibility.

At a certain point it’s more work than it’s worth to avoid the fee. I’m not short of primers.

So, good cheer, congratulations and seasons greetings to those not being charged a fee.

Yeah, some outfits won't ship some items to some states due to Draconian state laws and regs at the destination. I feel for those folks.

No good deed goes unpunished. The best way to guarantee a business will stop waiving a voluntary fee is to accuse it of breaking the law by doing so.
The thread’s title claims just that but it has been demonstrated to be inaccurate.

Mine came. Free shipping and no hazmat fee as well. Mine had the hazmat labeling on the box.

But the primers were shipped in 100 count sleeves completely loose in the shipping box. This led to missing primers that escaped out of a hole in the box.

Sounds like OP should update title to say no Hazmat Tax instead of no Tag

Good warning on the packaging though. I've gotten boxes of 2nds from Midway before with holes in them - must be an interesting sight in the freight truck with bullets on the floor
