This is kind of embarrassing.

Brand new CBOB. Disassembled fine. Then upon reassembly, its seriously frozen. I am going to get a rubber mallet shortly.

I reassemble this way.

1) Barrel into slide.
2) Invert
3) Spring guide over barrel and push back to line up the slide stop. (This is when it froze up.)
4) Install barrel bushing.
5) Install recoil spring and plug.

Thoughts?

It is seriously stuck. The barrel is inclined down and is also frozen in place. I have used a light metal hammer over wood over fabric with no result. Full strength on the gun has no impact.

I'm not familiar with the Dan Wesson CBOB, but your problem in a normal 1911 is caused by the barrel link getting flipped down and wedging in the frame.
Or, by the barrel link pin working out and getting stuck in the frame cut.

In a normal 1911, you might be able to free it by bopping the muzzle back in the frame.
Or reaching in through the slide stop pin hole with a small punch and flipping or prying the link back foreward.

In any case, the slide stop pin has to be out of the gun before you can do anything.

Double what Earl said. EXPECIALLY the barrel bushing!

One trick I use is to insert the spring over the link pin (the small part in front of the linkage) to keep it in place.
