Oddly enough, a downwardly-plunging firey handbask
Holy Crap! I found a clerk that knew something about guns in a Wal-mart! He even cleared the chamber before handing one to me. That absolutely stunned me! Hell, we even chatted guns! But, a disclaimer: He wasnt some young punk (older gentleman), and even discussed how his 'new' dept. manager had nary an idea what he was doing, and from the impression I got, didnt want to be there in SG.

Just had to get that off my chest. :)

Even more stunning, he had 8mm Mauser! Ok, so it was only one box. But he had it! Other locals havent even heard of an 8mm Mauser.:scrutiny:

Whats more, this store had 2 boxes of .35 Wheelen! (200gr Rem. Ultra Core-Lokt SP) Any one want me to get them and ship them to you? Tamara, dont you have a .35 Wheelen?

UNFRIGGINBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not that they had the items.........

that someone finally found something good to post about walmart!! :)

Mike, I'd be willing to bet that the gentleman in Wal-Mart is retired military, next time you see him please ask if he is or isn't ex military.

I noticed "Firearms Certified" as a suffix to one Wal-mart salesclerk's nametag. Does anyone have info about this? He was busy selling paint at the time so I didn't ask him about it.

The 'young punk' in a WalMart around here is actually quite a knowledgable fellow, chatted with him before. Was chatting about ammo and he mentioned the new (at the time) .223WSSM, which I haden't seen yet, and that it was a pretty radical design. Guy opened up a box and handed me one, crazy little screamer of a cartridge, just like he said ;)

At anyrate, I've been rather impressed by the gun-counter employees at WalMart I have to say.

to become certified to sell a firearm at wally world you have to be over 18. pass several "computer based learning" tests with a score of 100%. and be trained in the filling out of the 4473, and the NICS check. SOME areas also require the person selling the firearm to have had their fingerprints taken, and a background check run on them through the police dept.
