Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR), the nation’s largest firearms manufacturer, is proud to introduce the Ruger® M77® Mark II Frontier Rifle, a compact rifle designed to accept a front-mounted scope.

“We are very excited about the Ruger M77 Mark II Frontier Rifle and the features its compact design offers,” said Sturm, Ruger President, Stephen L. Sanetti. “The ability to mount a scope out front on the barrel rib allows the shooter to keep both eyes open, providing a wider field of view and instant target acquisition, which is a great advantage in tracking moving game. The front-mounted scope also provides long eye relief, which is important in rifles chambered for powerful magnum cartridges.”

Okay,

Bad deal. I spent something like an hour and a half getting the b-square mount aligned. I bore sighted it at 75 yards. So I took it out. Shooting at 100 yards: First shot 6" low, 8" right. I was going, "Hmm, okay". Next three shots 1. 3/4" low, 2" right. 2. Bullseye, 5/8" low/right. 3. 6" low, 2" left. 4. high/left 5. Off paper.

So I was going what the crap. I loaded and fired five more shots, none hit paper. I then noticed my whole scope and rail were flopping pretty badly. The side screws for the mount must have worked loose after just a few shots. I believe the first shot just stripped a rough edge off of the bubba crowning job I did with a 1/2" drill bit. By then it was later in the afternoon and I knew I wouldn't get the rail realigned and tightened. So I gave up for the day. I'm thinking I need to use loc-tite?

Okie you have done the b-squares. What did you use?

Also Steelhead it almost looks like you may have drilled some extra holes. I also can't tell, but it looks like you have a b-square on that rifle?

Also I obviously need to grind down the crappy crowning job I did. I figured I'd pick up a crowning bit from Brownells, unless anyone else has some better place?

P.S. With the 16.5" barrel, and the weight down to less than 8lbs the kick wasn't any worse than an Ishapore Jungle Carbine. Which I expected, I figured all the powder wouldn't have a chance to expend inside the chamber, and gets blown out into a big fireball out front, with the slug. But that's okay, I am planning on reloading lightened loads for this gun.

Blue loctite is a must

I've used 3 different Bsquare mounts, 4 if you count that ugly thing they make for the SKS, and I've just finished another that I haven't had a chance to shoot yet. Loctite is all I've ever used, but I do let it set for at least 24 hours before shooting.
