PSL Suppressor Question

I am in the process of suppressing my PSL, my question is I wonder if I can shoot the heavier loads through it while suppressed. I know the suggested bullet weight for the PSL is never go over 150gr but if its suppressed, should be ok?

I would bet that the reason they say not to go over 150 gr is the barrel twist rate, not because the gun can't handle it. Accuracy will be poor if you go over that mark. But you can use a suppressor, you just may have to stick with 150 gr bullets.

The gas system is set up for ~150gr military ammo. The suppressor will increase back pressure to the gas system and make the heavy loads do even more damage to the rifle than if they were unsuppressed.

If I were you, I'd be careful even shooting 150gr milsurp suppressed. Might want to start handloading for that.

What can are you shooting? Many of the silencers in .30 are rated for 300wm so 54r shouldn't be and issue other than the corrosion problems.

My Romak-III I used to have slugged out at .314... My Hornady bullets I used for hand loading where .312... Your silencer you getting is able to handle these slighter larger diameter bullets...

Most cans have .020 -.030 clearance threw the bore over the caliber of the round. It is the pressure that you might want to consider when using cans with different rounds than just the one written on the side.
