Posts: 140 Sounds like you want two different uppers: a standard 16'' and a heavy 20-24''.
That way, you'll have two uppers that fill their respective roles very well, as opposed to one upper that's only so-so at any one thing. Later, you could buy another lower and tailor it to whichever upper you choose to keep on it.
What if the wind is howling outside the barrelsecond lesson = its whats inside the barrel that matters...not outside...ever.
That depends on who you are. I think flashlights on a rifle that doesn't see the light of the moon EVER is frickin stupid. I also think that forward vert grips are very comfy and have a nice feel.Four = Nothing goofier at the range than shooting a rifle that looks like a shopping cart of "I like to play Army" aftermarket products.
You say that like they are worthless if they aren't built with the best parts available. What defines a quality lower receiver and who makes them?Five = Its an AR15...dont waste too much money on anything but a well thought through build up from a quality lower receiver.
Again, your opinion. He/I/We can do whatever He/I/We want(s) with his/my/our gun, weather that is shooting the crap out of it as fast as we can or driving nails with the buttstock. It's his/my/our rifle that he/I/we paid for.Six = If your planning on just sitting there and pulling the trigger pretending your semi is a full auto....get a .22...one with cheap barrels as getting a good barrel and then playing Rambo is just plain idiotic.
Opinion4 rails? who cares....
So the barrel doesn't heat up as fast when shooting a lot, a.k.a. varmint hunting. Also, makes the rifle heavier so the felt recoil is less.Bull Barrels....for what????
To get the benefits of a heavy rigid barrel without the weight. Also, they look cool.Fluted Barrels....for what???
It's an acronym for close quarters battle. Obviously you have never been charged by a jack rabbit.CQB.....????
Well, it wasn't very informative either; too much opinion. This is not a flame...
Lets get real here...Do you really want to learn something?
Four = Nothing goofier at the range than shooting a rifle that looks like a shopping cart of "I like to play Army" aftermarket products.
4 rails? who cares....
and its time somebody pointed you in the right direction.
fins...extra mass...rails...etc...etc...is not the things he should be concentrating on for his first rifle...if he wants accuracy.
Im having fun here..if your reading something else...its just a guy trying to get the facts out
By the way, he's going to be hunting hogs at night so he needs a rail
