Probably a stupid question but I am unable to remove the front take down pin. I have tried pushing it with a plastic rod with alot of force and it does not budge. I didn't want to try prying it up with a knife or screwdriver as that seemed like a bad idea. Was hoping was just some trick to it I am missing, any advice is greatly appreciated thankyou.

the takedown pins have a detent that keeps them in the frame. are you having troubletaking it completely out or getting it out far enough to remove the upper?

punch and a lite hammer strike should get it started. Make sure that the punch is wither brass or hard plastic...don't hammer the coating off.

This problem isn't uncommon. A sharp whack from a hard plastic mallet will get it moving without harming the finish on your rifle.
