Just curious if anyone here has ordered from Rock River Arms and how long did it take to fill your order? I ordered a complete upper from them about a month ago, I was told it would take 3-4 weeks. Well, it's been 4 weeks so I called for status. The Woman I got said that since I ordered some "extras" (Railed Gas Block and stainless barrell) that it was going to take longer. I have no idea why I wasnt told this when I ordered it, but anyway she had absolutely no estimate as to when I would receive it!?!? When I questioned her on this...she wouldnt budge and refused to give me a time estimate.

Has anyone had any problems with them?? Should I just cancel my order? I went to them in the first place because everything I read on them was favorable. Any advice would be appreciated.

This has happened in the past with them, and is definitely happening now since they are trying to move facilities. I've had an order for a complete bolt/carrier set for about two months. When it shows, it shows.

Recently, I had planned to get a RR "Varminter", but was told the wait would be from 4-6 weeks. Not being willing to wait that long, I switched my order to the Bushmaster one and got it in a week! (Plus, I got a fluted barrel and a hard case in the deal)

Have you tried ordering from someone like Sableco? I've heard that it can be quicker to go through a dealer. I did and got my upper in about a week. YMMV if you specified something other than a standard piece, though.

I used to be able to order upperss pretty quick from Sable Co, but lately they have been at the mercy of Rock River also. I've Emailed them for three seperate upper types and all of my responses came back " 3-4 weeks order time" by Mr Stanfield, the sales manager.

You may have some luck calling them, you never know.

I got a new upper a few weeks ago. They told me 3-4 weeks and I think it took about 3.

Thanks for all the reply's...I'm going to start looking into the alternatives now.

Took me about five and a half minutes to get my RRA... on the shelf, you know. :p

I ordered a Rock River National Match Hardball. Was quoted 14 months in May of last year. Put my $200 down and waited and waited for a confirmation. Never got one. Came across a Springfield I was very happy with and cancelled my order with RRA. Probably shouldn't have though. Most guys that ordered when I did still haven't received their guns and some guys that ordered upwards of a year before I did and were quoted 12 months were getting theirs around the 18 month mark.

But the AR and the 1911 sides are completely different from what I understand. Chuck does ALL the 1911 work while there are at least two guys doing the AR stuff.

If someone is looking for one in stock they might want to try Adco Firearms . I Emailed him last night about a RR 24" SS barreled upper and he had it in stock. From what I've seen he's got good prices.

I've decided on the Armalite M15T Upper so I'm going to have to pass on that one.

Rock River Arms is really slow at filling orders. The dealer that sold me my RRA carbine said it took them about 9 weeks to get it shipped to him. All mine had done to it was a chromed barrel and a fake flash suppressor stuck on the end. Having them do more custom work like a railed gas block and stainless steel barrel would only make the wait longer.

I haven't had any problems with my RRA though, so I'm not complaining. It even eats wolf without a hitch. :p

The waiting isn't really what's bothering me..I can wait for something if it's worth it. What bugs me is that it's an open-ended wait time. Basically, it'll get here when it gets here.

That's what I find distressing....dont quote me 4 weeks unless you know it'll be 4 weeks. From what I've read here, it sounds like this 3-4 weeks line is the same line of BS they hand out to everyone. Then when I call at the 4 week mark, they tell me it's not assembled and they have no estimate as to when it will be.

That's just bad business practice.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is, is it really worth the wait? I mean, RRA rifles are nice, but are they THAT nice?? I opted for the BM Varminter which I was able to get in a week, and haven't regreted the decision.

Well, there is an advantage to living close by. If mine ever croaks I'll just drive it up to Windham and drop it off! :)

I just wanted to update everyone on this situation. I called Rock River again yesterday for status. They told me that it was being shipped out that day. So it looks like total wait time will end up being close to 6 weeks. I just wish they were honest with me about the wait time form the start, I would have been willing to wait 6 weeks.
