I bought a 75B last May to get a 9mm Luger to lower
cost for a range session, and cut back on .45 ACP - I also
shooot a full size 1911 and S&W 625 (.45 ACP ). Since I
got it as a range gun, and it has a rep. for reliability I
got the packing goo off it with an initial cleaning & lube
then just shot it. After 680 rds after several range
sessions and not one FTF or FTE I sez to myself, hey
what the heck let's clean it. Did I mention it's also
silly accurate? Anyway, it field strips & re-assembels
quite easy with no bushing or llink like the 1911, great
service pistol. Mine is blued - a good deep black finish
- mine left the factory Jan '08
Sights - three white dot sights are tall enough to pick up
visually, and are mounted in a full length integrral
serrated rib which isn't visible in a side view if you are
sijmply looking at the various models on the CZUSA
web site. Good ergos for my hands, the backstrap of the
grip/frame is curved for the natural shape of the palm
I like the standard 75B with it's DA/SA options & the
frame mounted thumb safety, although I wish the thumb
safety was a bit larger/longer similiar in shape to the
1911 thumb safety, still it has the same movement ON/OFF
as a 1911 which my old school lizard brain is pretty much
wired into, so I don't know why anyone would go with the SA
Only model but different strokes I guess.
Trigger PUll, DA isn't as long a stroke when starting from
the proper position, i.e. the hammer is at the safety or
quarter cock position, it lessens the DA Trigger Length of
Pull which I would estimate to be less than an N-frame or
L-frame S&W DA revolver. THe SA trigger pull has smoother
now with over 1100 rds, but it does have more of a length
to reset the trigger than a 1911, but what pistol doesn't?
Customer Service at CZUSA is good from what I've read,
and one of the Top International competitors with a
CZ, Angus H. runs Ghost Holsters, a CZ Custom shop where
you can buy about any replacement CZ part, or
custom parts, Wolf spring sets, as well as custom work
if you opt for those mods.
Mine was $509, Great value for the quality, design
and performance. My shooting buddy has a Glock 19
and after shooting it he was thinking of getting one
asked about one at a gun store - guy behind the counter
said oh everybody is asking about those and they're getting
hard to find. CZ had a bit of a price increase over the
summer. FWIW.
