I have a question on the slide stop. I just bought a stainless CZ-75B and shot it for the first time last night. It is a sweet gun!!!

anyway, when stripping it to clean it and putting it back together, the slide stop doesnt sit flush to the side of gun frame. The long cylinder piece is inserted fine but the other end with the shorter square piece doesnt sit flush with the frame.

Is this normal?

To tap it out, I used a rubber mallet and lightly tapped out the slide stop. I couldn't remember if this piece was sitting flush when I bought the gun new. Grrr, I'm a little bit worried.

Hmm

How much non flush? It's really just a lever, and as long as the slide hold open, engages the magazine follower like it should, I see no reason to worry.

Post a picture.

I don't have a CZ but I do have a Witness Match which is pretty close.....like your beauty of a gun it's SAO and the thing is supremely accurate

A picture would be helpful. My slide stop (left side) fits pretty flush when assembled.

I found, on my CZ75 Compact, I could remove the slide stop with finger pressure only. No tapping with a hammer. Hold the slide back to where the lines pretty much line up, turn the pistol over and press on the end of the slide stop while wiggling the slide a bit for and aft. If you hit the "sweet spot", the slide stop will push out pretty easily.

here is a pic. My local gunshop told me this is the same way with the other CZ's he has in stock right now so I assume this is just normal.

The original 75 could be carried either C&L or hammer down and used as a da pistol. It was meant to be carried either way and allowed for the preference of the shooter or the agency by which it was adopted.

You can learn more about the variations here...www.czforum.com

you can sort of see the difference in safeties on the CZ-USA website, but I'll try to take a pic of mine tomorrow. I handled other models when I was looking for my gun and the SA safety is definitely bigger than on the standard 75B. The mag release is bigger too.
