I had some friends out from MD a few weeks ago, and of course I had to indulge them in a trip up to BCSC. We brought about everything I own, shot the hell out of it, and guess who had to clean it all :barf:

A good time was had by all, and we finally cured Colleen of her "cup and saucer" pistol grip (odd since she is an ex-marine). Pictures finally came up from my friends cam, so I thought I'd share a few. California may not be any gunnies favorite state, but we're still alive and well over here.

First a little game of name that handgun :D

Hoorays for a nice sunny day with plenty of firepower! Wish I had taken some aftermath pictures of the pile of gun parts and CLP in my garage. I know a lot of our readers are Burro Canyon members, always look forward to seeing you folks up there. :D

Nice pics....

BTW cup and saucer is perfectly legit... even in the army manual.

Wellllll..... maybe so and maybe not, that's a whole can of worms to get opened on this forum. All my personal experience says you can get a whole lot more help from your offhand than just keeping the mag in. :p

I would agree, except with handguns that weigh a lot.

Eg. The Walker...

by looking at the photos, I was wondering if Chip was hitting the target at point of aim even though the bayonet was not extended. My M44 only shoots to point of aim with the Bayo extended.
Looks like it was a fun day at the range. Where exactly in SoCal is Burro Canyon? I used to live in northern Los Angeles county but I can't recall hearing of Burro Canyon.

Well it sounds like a good time was had by all. Sorry you had to clean all your firepower without assistance. I've had that happen several times also. It usually happens when I take someone new or at least less experienced so I kind of write it off to giving new folks the chance to get to know shooting and most of the joy that goes with it. Cleaning is the final joy.

Burro Canyon is up highway 39, north of Azusa. It's a bit primitive but the people are friendly, membership is VERY reasonable, and the use of private ranges makes it more than worth the drive.

Oh and Chip wasn't hitting......anything really, but he did fine on the clays.

Yup yer right, I pulled the wrong photo... the M44's on the table for that one. My bad.
