I've been reloading for rifles for 10+ years and have that down to a T. I just got into loading for my handguns. The RCBS 45 acp seater die comes with 2 plugs, one for RN and one for SWC. I havent had time to reload any yet but what plug would you use for Missouri Cast Flat Heads? I'm assuming the SWC since it looks flat. Probably a dumb first post.

Thanks! Thats what I thought, hopefully I can get some free time this week to try them out.

With the plug out of the die observe how well it fits the tip of the bullet. With some flat nose bullets, the SWC plug contacts only on the sharp edge and not the flat part. I see this in 45 Colt with 255 gr round nose flat point bullets. For those, I use the round plug.

And check the cup every so often for wax buildup that can slowly decrease your OAL without you knowing it.

I grind mine flat for wadcutters and flat points that is more positive seating. I have several seater dies instead of adjusting the seater plug each time you change. Makes it a little easier.
