rcbs collet pulled slipping!

You want something with no bounce in it. I've tried to pull bullets using a wood block. 20 blows later bullet still in case and hasn't moved. One blow on my lead brick and it's out. Even heavily crimped .44 Mag loads only take 2-3 blows on the lead brick or concrete. The lead brick is much easier for me due to back problems.

If you arent interested in keeping the bullets, just use a pair of dykes on your SS press. I think the 44 should be tall enough to come to thru the top of the press. Put bullet it, run the ram up, grab onto bullet with dykes, lower ram, bullet should come out.

Dykes are tradespeak for diagonal cutters ;)

After the collet closes it is as tight as it is ever going to be. I have one RCBS collet that will not pull 257 Weatherby bullets. To check the body of the collet puller I wrapped the collet with a .001" thick feeler gage. Increasing the ability of the body to crush the collet did not improve the performance of the puller meaning the collet inside diameter was too large or someone reamed, honed or sanded the inside diameter of the collet.
