Hello I was wondering if I'm just dumb or stupid?
I just purchased a RGBS Swager die set part number 09495.
I have been using a Lyman Spartan press that is my dad's.
The swager small head fits the ram but the case stripper hits the back of the press. Is this case stripper #09487 the wrong size?
Is there a trick to use this die set or do I need to get a new press?
I just started trying to reload some Lakecity mil brass in 5.56. I have the correct rod for the .223 type brass.
Thanks

The thing that rides the swager button should hit the bottom of the press frame and help to push the swaged case off the button. It does not fit my Lee either, but the cases come off fine.

The Lyman Spartan press is an old obsolete model and has a very small frame opening by todays standards.

As you have found, there is almost no clearance between the ram and the frame.

I think you could grind off a flat on the RCBS shell stripper to clear the frame and get it to work.

In the grand scheme of things, a newer larger press with more leverage would probably make swaging primer pockets a lot easier.
