Well, at least they didn’t call it the .401SL.Shame they didn't make it a .41... but, the .41 is already a Legend...
I like how much room they give for COL!
All I'm saying is the next one better be called the 429 maximum...
I’m thinking about a .32Long necked down to use a .25ACP bullet. I’ll call it the 6.4mm MouseFart. All I'm saying is the next one better be called the 429 maximum...

Right or Left Hand Twist?
7.62NATO, .401WSL, .45-70
something esoteric like that needs progressive rifling...
So you’re saying it’s actually a .401WSL Magnum? That makes sense. The COL of the .401 is exactly the SAMMI dimension for a 7.62mm case trimmed. Coincidence? ...I think not.
As a brush gun it makes sense. If the target market (pun intended) is the long range fly swatters club, then it will probably flop. Maybe there’s folks out there with the money to chase the accuracy rabbit with a 10mm but I doubt it’s enough to build a sustainable brand around.Honestly, you lost me at Esoteric. That broke my two syllable limit.
That being said, I think I have seen enough internet data to back up / support your Progressive Rifling concerns.
(How long till we get this shut down) ???
*cough cough 45 Raptor cough cough*
Good luck on bullet selection. Cast?
I agree. It's main target seems to be for the straight walled cartridge hunting. As a brush gun it makes sense. Then again, I studied engineering, not marketing or psychology so I could be wrong.
AR-10? Let’s revive the AR-14 design. It’s more hunting style.Good luck on bullet selection. Cast?
I'm thinking in AR10 upper, as the cartridge comes in at 2374 ft. lb.

I'm not real familiar with lever actions. But I'm wondering how reliable a straight wall rimless cartridge in the action be?Well.....certainly a lever gun...
.....and a Magnum Research BFR...
AAAAAAND..........something along the lines of the Ruger 44 (40) Carbine................

Tombstone 9MM - POF-USA - Modernized Lever action rifle
There’s quite a few rimless and semi rimless cartridges used in lever actions, including .35Rem. The straight wall is not as big a problem in a manual action versus a self loader since the brass has time to spring back after firing. With a semiautomatic the case is typically still expanded when the action starts to cycle. That makes extracting difficult compared to a manual. I guess it also kinda depends on the lever action. Marlin 94/336/95/444 and Browning BLR actions are completely different. The toggle action Winchester is another animal altogether because it uses a pretty beefy claw compared to the others.I'm not real familiar with lever actions. That is definitely a unique gun. And a magazine fed lever action rifle is probably be the only way the 400 Legend could safely function without the chance of bullet setback and still chamber on the case mouth.Eventually there will be some helpful reviews...

I have a BLR is .358Win which uses the same parent case as .308Win and (I'm guessing) the .400Legend. It uses a 4-round box magazine, which is plenty for the woods. That is definitely a unique gun.
