After handling several 7.62x39 and .223 rifles built on Mini-Mauser actions, would it be possible to have a CZ 527 or Remington 799 rebarreled to 6.8 SPC?
I would usually take a .243 over the 6.8 but as far as I know you can't fit a .308 length case into such an action. It seems it would be a very handy yet practical gun to use on whitetails to moderate ranges. In addition, I think the 6.8 is a superior cartrige to the 7.62x39 for deer. Whether this justifies the cost of a new barrel (and bolt head?), we shall see
