Next to a reclaimed patch of swampland called D.C.
I really, really wanted to get a Knoxx SpecOps stock for my NEF Pardner...But I got a response from Blackhawk telling me that their Remington 870 stock is a non-fit.

Actually, I read somewhere (maybe here!) that I could make the SpecOps work if I want to cut about 1 1/4" of metal off of the spacer, but I'd just as soon not deal with that.

So short of a Knoxx stock -- can anyone recommend the most effective pad and/or stock for the Pardner to reduce recoil that they know will work without surgery?

I guess I could switch to reduced tactical loads, but I'd like to consider any possible add-ons first...

Thanks.

I don't know who told you that but I see pictures of Knoxx stocks on NEF Protectors all the time. People email them to me.

I also received several emails from BlackHawk sales reps asking me if their stocks fit. I told them that they do. One rep did have a problem with his Protector because it had a Metric receiver stud. Some Protectors & 982 shotguns do have a Metric receiver stud but only a few. The solution hardware stores carries many Metric bolts.

Hey, GC -- thanks for the quick reply!

The response actually came from someone at Blackhawk customer service (email).

I have a squared-off flat-top receiver on my Pardner (I know some Pardners come with the rounded receiver that looks more like the Remy 870). Do you imagine that would make any difference?

So basically -- just so my thick head can grasp it -- you're saying that my Pardner should be able to take the Knoxx stock, and the only possible swap-out required would be a metric bolt?

I'd get a PAST recoil pad that you wear on your sholder. They are great and you can fire heavies all day long and not get the blackand blue marks. It can be worn under your shirt if you think someone may think you're a wuss for using such a thing.

That's correct. All PP shotguns have the same receiver.

A gun that fits, with light loads will not thump you. You can also get a good recoil pad that mounts on the buttstock

I agree with you because I am not a big fan of AR style stocks on shotguns. The recoil pad on the PP is pretty good. I don't feel the need to change mine.
