So the fiance and I are watching Red Dawn. I had no clue this was her first time. A line comes up about the 4473 and my jaw just dropped. She chuckled and said "What is it now?" (I have a tendency to rant during gun movies. I'm sure I'm the only on afflicted by this trait among my High Road Brethren ;) ).

So the invading CO tells his subordinate to go to the gun stores, grab the 4473s and check them against the addresses to see who's armed and will put up a resistance. I'm immediately flabbergasted because this is a very pro gun argument and likely only someone who's intimately familiar with firearms would inject a sentiment such as that in a film. I explained to her why and she understood perfectly.

I then Google a bit to try and find out about the Writers and Director. I had no idea who Kevin Reynolds and John Milius were even though I've seen several of their films. I read more about John Milius and now it all makes perfect sense. I am a new fan of Mr. Milius.

Great movie, awesome line, good sentiment, excellent thought process.

Wolverines!
