You would have to be pretty stupid to think that all gun owners are like that.

There are plenty of pretty stupid people.

People are getting into shooting because of these shows, it's helping our community grow.

I surely hope the people I've heard discussing the show don't own guns.

Right, every gun owner owns a gunshop and builds full autos in the gunshop they own and builds them for Law Enforcement and the Military. You would have to be pretty stupid to think that all gun owners are like that. Don't be paranoid to this extreme. People are getting into shooting because of these shows, it's helping our community grow.
You bet. And folks who watch Celebrity Apprentice are sharpening their interview skills.
The show has grown the interview community three fold. LOL..........And I got a news flash for you friend. The general public is pretty stupid.

There's a difference between getting interested in something after watching a show than watching a show and getting better at it. People have in fact posted here about taking friends shooting after they got interested after watching Topshot, the same can happen with Sons of Guns.

And I got a news flash for you friend. The general public is pretty stupid.

Never heard anyone act surprised when they learn someone doesn't have a Gun shop manufacturing full auto weapons or claim guns should be banned because all gun owners have a Gun shop manufacturing full auto weapons.

You sarcastically said that people get better interview skills by watching Apprentice. That is the equivalent of becoming a better shooter by watching these basic gun shows. I said these shows spark interest in shooting, not improve marksmanship.

No, he said and I quote;

He was not saying because they watch the show they are getting better at it, but trying to because of the show, and simply because you watch something on TV does not mean that you will carry that over into your life.

If you want to learn about gunsmith work, read the classic books, treatises and records regarding gunsmithing. Speak with a smith, but dont watch television and then try that at home or don't be fooled into believing tv will make you into something that only time, talent and labor can do. That's foolish nonsense and a waste of time. I watch the show from time to time for entertainment tho. Nothing else on....

Maybe they will have a show on how to make shivs on MSNBC for Lockup.

Thanks for the info. What showcase for gun rights! :barf:

Sons of Guns

I thought the show was a little corny.

My wife enjoyed the heck out of it.

She hasn't been a huge fan of my guns, but after watching all of season 1.. she actually asked to go shoot my AR and a pistol or two :)

You better believe that I'll be watching more Sons of Guns with her ;)

(first post btw, nice to meet everybody)

I kinda like the show myself. I just kick my mind into neutral and enjoy the show. A show about guns, I like it. Alot of people are making a fuss about this or that being scripted, it don't matter to me. They show alot of neat stuff on there and I enjoy it. Entertainment purposes only.

Y'all know wrestling is fake right?

No, I didn't read all the threads.

But any show that's on prime time and showing shooting helps. The show is putting forth some "drama", but you're going to need some to attract people. The show is kind of drama queenish, but it is drawing anti-gun type of friends of mine to start asking questions about the sport of shooting. Some are getting interested in trying. So we need this. We have a local Cabelas. They're actually beginning to advertise firearm sales on the local channels. When was the last time you saw a firearm advertisement on prime time that wasn't on an outdoor channel? We need this kind of stuff to get more people interested. To true gun purists then yeah the show is sorta "hokey", but really, think about it. If it's extending our interests and getting more people involved, is that bad? I've got three more people interested in trying out some .22s because of that show(they're Disc freaks). Who knows where they'll go from there. Just my two cents.

That's exactly what I've been saying, glad to see someone actually has experience with this show helping our sport.

According to Jim Fuller at Nevada Shooters forum TMZ has their facts wrong. Jim spoke with Will and he said it was two AK actions that were missing. Like many things in life some things you either love or hate. So it is with Sons of Guns....
