She didn't exactly have proper training, with the right teacher *points to himself* I think she would be very safe.

...here we go again...

Not sure of meaning.
If you're not into the ladies, that's OK. This is The High Road. We don't judge! :D

hopefully rachel ray will never host firearm show....she bout shot herself in the face with a pneumatic nail gun on some dumb interior design show...id hate to see her with a real gun

O....

M....

G....

I thought they only did the "look down the barrel" thing in cartoons?

I've never actually watched her show. Her voice could get really annoying really quickly.

What the hell was it.Something like a 15 round rocket launcher the buyer was going to use to"Scare somali pirates away"Did I get this right?Maybe I was on my meds at the time,But REALLY!!!And if I was the taxpayer footing the bill for that ridiculus ar/saiga"Entrance weapon"I'd be real pissed. The few times I've watched this show,The only thougt in My head was WHY?:what:

Well, the silenced shotgun was pretty neat. And so was the flame thrower . But some of the stuff is far fetched at the least. Who in the real world would turn a thompson into a m-16 wanna be. And the fold away night light / wild dog killer was something else. Personally, i think most of the stuff they have is way overpriced.

I watch the show regularly and enjoy it. That's because I don't take it very seriously. It's just entertainment. I'm educated enough to understand what they're doing is geared towards the demographic who doesn't know guns very well. Let's face it, what could a guy like Will teach to the average internet gun expert like you all? Nothing. Total waste of time to even try. You all have forgotten more than a 15 year gunsmith like Will can ever know in a lifetime. I call it the "fantasy firearms show". Some of you need to just get a bowl of popcorn and relax or don't watch.

On another note.........in our small backwoods desert town the hottest RJF item was the anti-pirate launcher that the local kids made. They made it out of 16 Pringle cans duct taped together and stuffed them with Roman candles. Mounted it on a Radio Flyer red wagon. Set fire to a nearby field and the cops confiscated it.

Awww, come on guys... Aren't we just a bunch of jaded cynics around here?

This is a MAINSTREAM television show shown nationally on a popular cable tv channel, and it is solely about GUNS! Sure, their stuff can be a bit goofy at times, and rather impractical. But, it can be a fun show, and I think it helps to have guns seen as more mainstream.

None of the other gun related shows are all that realistic either. The "Future Weapons" guy always talks as if he's revealing the details of the Manhattan Project to the public for the very first time, and it is my opinion that the "Top Shot" isn't really. Sure, that show has some rather skilled shooters, but they also choose their contestants based on looks/personality for the show, not just raw ability. I'd be willing to bet that there is more than one THR member who could best the "Top Shot(s)" in a head-to-head competition. But, we still watch and enjoy that show, right?

That's what is wrong (among other things) today. Not enough kids using their imagination and doing things like that. When we were kids we made rockets and blew things up. Now kids just sit playing video games. I don't get it...

Just call me an old man I guess!

i dont think the cops took it because it "might have been dangerous".... i have a feeling the cops confiscated it more because they lit a field on fire with it.....

im all for imagination.....but when stuff goes ablaze.....i think its time to put the matches and duct tape down.

Point taken. I live in the wet part of WA so we didn't have to worry about that so much. In hindsight I'm somewhat surprised I still have all of my fingers, and not too many burn scars...

Sadly, it is another mis-named Reality TV Show. I say, mis-named because it certainly isn't reality, just made for TV. All pretenses of reality disappear during the production process. I use TV listings to choose what I might watch on TV. If it says REALITY, I just choose another channel. Into each one they always inject false deadlines, angst and unrealistic expectations. Reality, bah humbug.

I like the show, but haven't seen every episode. But I actually think it's funny how people make fun of them (the stuff said is true). And it's funny how "pikid89" said they answer questions, that nobody asks (true). But I don't see why they get so much gun credit. I believe the community of THR knows more about firearms than them. There was one episode where they didn't know what a M203 was. What kind of gun enthusiast doesn't know what a military issued grenade launcher is. Ha 5 star thread, Bud.

Count me as one that likes the show. The last one where they mounted four MG-42s into one mount was interesting. I like it that Will makes mention that the BATFE requires paper work before some of his creations can be given to the customer. For show or what, Will needs a pat on the back for first looking out for the safety of his employees. This was really brought out in the last ephsidoe(no one ever said that I can spell). I think that we need to note that the program is positive for us firearms owners.

I'm a fan of the show, because I see it for what it is. It's entertainment revolving around something akin to firearms. It's not a documentary. Yes, they do dumb, pointless things for an absurd fee. the guy who got his right handed AR-15 modded to a left handed was silly. Just go out and buy a left handed upper, or deal with it the way hundreds of other lefties have, myself included.

Yes, they come up with solutions to problems no one has, but as a back yard tinkerer, I find it amusing what people can do in their spare time. If someone has enough money, there are no ends to the stupid ways in which it gets spent.

FIVETWOSEVEN, that thing looks interesting. It has worse ergonomics than does a Glock.

For show or what, Will needs a pat on the back for first looking out for the safety of his employees.

I don't know about that. Firing an arrow from a .410 inside next to his daughters head with no eye or hearing protection is not what I would call safe. Nor would spraying the shop with full auto blanks.

seeing the show as a bunch of guys just playing around with guns for fun

Wellllllll...I am out shooting because I enjoy it. It's not always practice for self defense or marksmanship, I do quite a bit of "plinking."

If I could find a way to do it and make money at it, I would. :)

The two things that irked me are 1 Charlie talking about a left handed shooter getting hit in the face with flying brass. I'm a left handed AR shooter and have nver been hit by brass.
2. The fellow who brought in the Arisaka and they couldn't find 6.5 Jap ammo, what the hell is the internet for. Oh and Charlie in an earlier episode calls himself a firearms expert, sorry I don't think so.

Kari was an anti gun person until she appeared on the show. She's still a vegetarian but now she's a gun loving vegetarian.

ETA

She stated that the mini gun she shot to cut a tree in two converted her. Since then she's proven to be one of the better marksman and even stated that she enjoyed shooting the Barrett in paper armored car.

Was that a chick holding a turkey in post 24? :what:
sorry...back to the real subject.

Is this a real show or just a joke.? Or is the real show a joke?

I have somehow been blessed by having never seen this show....I must have been reloading at the right time.

As a lefty shooter with rifles, I can't say I've ever got hit in the face by it. I did get many burns on my back from flying brass, as it went straight down my shirt collar. But, that's why when I bought an AR, I researched it and bought a Stag L-1. The guy in question got his AR from a friend who was likely a right-handed shooter.

I usually like gun shows but "Sons of Guns" does not do a lot for me. In fact I find it a little boring.

Now give me Top Shot any day of the week :)
