I'm in Calif so I should be using RCBS... I met a guy who used to work there and he really didn't like their shop or management or anything else. Oh well. Also, someone told me RCBS and Redding used to be equal, but RCBS went to sleep and havn't moved forward.
Anyway, I've heard everywhere Redding is currently the best.
I bought one set of Competition S-Die for 223.
I bought a regular set for 17-Mach-IV.
It being 17cal. Me being inexperienced and was too tired and headstrong... I completely pulverised and demolished the entire decap/expander part. Yes, I forced the hell out of it. It breaking had nothing to do with the Dillon or Redding Die.
I wrote Redding and told them this and specifically told them it was all my fault and asked what replacement parts would cost + postage. They sent me a new one no charge. I was emphatic in that it was all my fault. I did want the new part at cost, but certainly NOT for free.
Putting togeather this unreasonably good customer service with their reputation as being the best, there is almost no way I'll ever buy another brand of dies. If they are that loyal to me, they deserve my loyalty back. In fact, I'll feel pretty guilty as it is until I buy a couple more sets to even out the score.
ps: Don't ever force stuff.
edit: I shouldn't have mentioned RCBS. This wasn't meant to say anything about them.
