This brand-new rifle will be kept all original, with the possible exception of adding a 20-rd. mag. I have neither the skills nor interest in adding a bullet guide to accept normal AK mags., and don't want a 30-rd.

Are any of the 15/20-rd. aftermarket mags now avail. for basic original Saigas considered to have the same solid reliabiity as the Russian 10-rounder included with these rifles?
This seems very doubtful, based on three hours skimming over multiple topics at four websites. I bought the gun in order to once again have a .223 rifle, known to be one of the most reliable semi-autos...at least with Izhmash factory mags.

The .223 saiga mags work fine. Check Carolina shooters supply.

I used SureFire mags before I converted my .223 and have nothing but good things to say about them.
