I have 2 1100s I bought used. The 20 gauge I bought 5 years ago and used for skeet . Still had a foil sticker on the gas valve showing installation orientation. I bet it hadn't had but 3 or 4 boxes of shells through it, it was made in 1967.1. Reliable
2. Low cost
You usually have to pick one.
Think I need to sell mine, don't get to shoot them anymore anywayAll these cats telling the OP to grab a Remington 1100.
Yep, it's a great shotgun. My reading comprehension must be flaring up, could have sworn the OP said "low cost."
Lowest price I found for an 1100 is $1150, highest price is $2800.

Had One Jammed all the Time. Forget Light Loads For SurLook for a Charles Daly semi. The one I had was very nice for what it was. I think it was an import sold as a CD gun, perhaps find out who is currently selling those and find a price.
Ok these are a bit Rare But I have had two for many Years and they are the Most Reliable Best shooting Auto I have ever seen. I have one in 12 gauge and one in 20 Ga too. They are SKB model XL900 MR. MR stands for Magnum receiver which will Take 3 inch magnum shell with a Barrel that chamber size. The 20 is a ithica skb and the 12 is a straight SKB. The 12 eats anyting from light to Heavy Loads. Will Just address the 12 gauge. I originaly sent the modified choked barrel to Briley and had it threaded for tubes and got Three choke tubes. Imp Cylinder, Modified, and Full. Have aquired a 30 inch full choke Vented Ribbed barrel as well as a Skeet Barrel for it. Bought the skeet barrel for Kicks as the Briley Chokes will Handle anything anyway. Got the 3 inch 30 full mainly for Turkey even though I really don think I need it. The 30 inch mag barrel is made fo Heavy Loads and the gas bleed is only 1 hole. Don't Think it would work well with target Loads. The Original barrel will walk and talk with ANYTHING 2-3/3. You Can Generaly get one in Very Good condition for 5-600 bucks on Gunbroker. Skb Also has a New Auto that is a Hybrid Gas/Inertia model. Comes with screw in Choke system. Stock Shims for Fit. Resonably Priced and i believe they take everything Including 3 inch mag. These are Very well made Guns. Mine are made In Japan. Don't Know about the New Ones. SKB has Been Around forever and Make Very Fine Shotguns For reasonable Money. Just google SKB Shotguns. I shoot Trap and Skeet with them as well as all My Hunting Needs. Just seen a SKB HS 300 Demo on Gunbroker for 600 bucks. 3 inch chamber with 3 chokes. Beautiful Wood. If i didn't have mine I would be all over that one.Looking for a reliable low cost semi-auto either new or used.Dont want to get a mortgage for a Benelli or HK.Any ideas
Got a 12ga Ithaca/SKB XL300 for HS Graduation in 1981. Great gun.Had One Jammed all the Time. Forget Light Loads For Sur

Yep I think the older ones are the best. Love my 20 gauge 900 xl too. It has a Switch under the forearm on the barrel to go from 2-3/4 shells to 3 inch magnum. It shuts down one of the vent holes when running 3 inch mangnum.Got a 12ga Ithaca/SKB XL300 for HS Graduation in 1981. Great gun.
Have heard Good things about the guns made in Turkey Also. Some Really nice wood on that demo model on gunbroker too. Wife would Kill me if I bought it LOL. Maybe I could buy it for her!!!The original SKB went out of business a good while back. They made excellent shotguns in Japan.
I don’t believe there is any connection between the original and current SKB other than name. The new SKB’s are made in Turkey.
top shotgun is a 1187 sport in 20 ga, it shoots 2-3/4-3" interchangable. bought at a public auction for 400.00 last fall.
Anybody else notice that the OP has failed to respond even once to his own thread?
That sure is a purdy gun. Looks to have been well taken care of.bought at a public auction for 400.00 last fall.
The connection is that GU in Omaha, who imported the Japanese SKB's has parts for those and now owns the name for the Turkish-made onesThe original SKB went out of business a good while back. They made excellent shotguns in Japan.
